Do people really care about the packaging when it comes to domestic mass produced $20 figures?

I can understand wanting to keep the box from an import figure or something like a Hot Toys nice and intact, but pic related is just silly. It's a boring black & red box with a cheap tray insert designed to be ripped open and thrown away.
