>>6288283OP here, yeah I don't buy just to buy since that sounds like wasted money. I see so many people here who buy/preorder stuff they don't care about but do it so they don't have to pay a fortune later in case they want the figure the say they never got into the source and regret it either to look at it collect dust or sell the figure they worried would go for a fortune. It's a real sad thing but with a hobby as about trending media as toys are it seems difficult to predict what will and won't be scalped.
For me it just sucks as there are various characters where if they were to get quality figures I would buy in a heartbeat. What really saddens me is I'm not even talking just obscure stuff either. For example, I'm a fan of Tezuka and would love figures of many characters from his different franchises. You would think with his reputation even the most obscure characters would have something but characters like Astro boy and Blackjack have such limited options for figures. I basically have given up hope on non manga/anime characters I love since it seems like only starwars/super heroes/funkos are your options for Western media. I would kill for characters like Tintin and moomins to have something but they have nothing other then little display figures.
Sorry for the rant guys. I love figures, I have seven currently (most new is the figma future boy conan), but it just kills me how unless your the current trend your probably out of luck on looking for figures or have to pay an arm and a leg for an older shitty figure.
