callgrim, bio monster, and kabuto mushi have a few different key looks that really work. over time you either get a bit burnt out or never stop collecting only those. marty sculpted the kabuto and bio mass so they work well together. callgrim was jesse's baby since the rechlen and aves era. heavily promoted on the main blog. jesse moved on to tshirts i heard so no new figures
outlander had only a few looks with that body. nick invested in making new heads which was a great move, but he's not the promotion engine that marty is for mushis. too many outlanders backed up and killed his flow.
roboforce was sculpted by matt to have 4(?) figure builds for the robo line in the first maxx. matt also designed it for his own needs he was planning for the main glyos line. despite how some feel about the owner its a solid toy for the price. matt really shows off the potential each time the gendrones come back. the zeroid also looks like hidden potential in combination with the maxx figure.
the wrestlers were gimmicky. banimon don't really fit with much else. osm/power lords were overpriced and too many convention exclusives with 4h. 4h killed those lines. osm brought back by gary has been better paced and smarter marketing. too bad power lords is tanked.
you either love or hate the pizza knights
there used to be a flow to the released. outlander would be the new colors or maybe marty. then glyos. sometimes callgrim or roboforce. with the sister companies slowling down besides marty being every other month, we lost the chance to see everything in a single color or two each couple of months
matt did neo nonilla last year as a fig and axis, then again this year as a fig, than marty as a fig, than the bio monster fig. great but who can find axis from a year ago easily to go with the other pieces? no one wants to really buy a fig from marty and two from the bio mass to make one build because thats like 25 and 43.
