Theres also two pieces of hood by the feet, on his sides near the gas tanks, and i believe another on his back unrelated from the rear wheel wells.
I personally have given thought to how a movie transformer would transform as a figure, and the best ive come up with is essentially very sturdy but thin and small spider or insect-like long jointed arms carrying individual plates and pieces that'd mean you'd have to place the farthest pieces (hands, feet) out and work pieces into position inwards, the result being a shitload of jointed pipes where the joints would be adequately thickening it up.
