I think Warlock might be my favorite BAF in a long time. At least as far as sculpt and choice of character is concerned...he's got a couple loose parts that are annoying, but he'll pose and stand fine.

Not the Robbie figure I was hoping for but I missed out on the Rhino wave GR so that's cool, hopefully this means we might get more Spirits of Vengeance like they've been doing Symbiotes lately

I only wanted Spider-Punk, Noir, Mysterio, and possibly Spiderwoman if it's Julia Carpenter, but if Lizard really is the BAF, I'm absolutely getting all the figures.

Nah, it's accurate as hell and I really wish we'd get more artist styled figures than just Campbell Spiderman and Copiel Thor for Marvel characters.

I'd pay a hella lot of money to get Jim Lee XMen, Andy Kubert Captain America, Ron Garney Silver Surfer, Chis Bachalo Generation X, Joe Quasada XFactor (with Random), Frank Cho Avengers... lots of pent up demand for favorite runs.

Not like he'd be hard to make either.
Pizza Spidey body, new head, forearm wraps, reused Goblin manpurse, new ripped belt overlay and shin wraps. Wouldn't take much paint either and Hasbro loves their easy repaints. He'd go great with the recent Jackal too.

Doppelganger seems like he'd be more unlikely because he'd require more new parts and would probably be a BAF if we ever get him.

The Collector's Vault was amazing
The prison set was pretty good too.
The Dr Strange set from the year before was awesome for just Magik. Dormammu was way nicer than the retail release and Hela was great too.

Thanos Imperative set from 2014 was meh. 2013's Thunderbolts was great. 2013 was great all around for SDCC.

It's a lot of random villains because they jail them altogether, so we got quite a few characters we'd probably never get.
It's like that New Avengers issue where Daredevil and SpiderMan have to take on the random villains who try to get out while they're at the Raft.

My review:

Love this figure. Amazing Detail and articulation.

Not as gappy as Spidey/Deadpool, neutral poses look ok.

Not a lot of accessories like Deadpool/Spidey.
Just stands, tendrils, spare top of head to change look of eyes and tongue. eyes just show through the white at the top of his jaw

No webshooter squares on back of hands

No boot toes, just monster toes

permanent symbiote spikes on shoulders/no calm "muscular Spider-man look" to him.

I WISH they put in Eddie Head/ Bagley Venom head/Whatever other version of Venom/spare hands with webshoote/Webbing.
(I mean yeah we can make all that ourselves but whatever)

But definitely great figure

His accessories are pretty cool if you know how to use em.

You can combine the tendrils together, swap the hands out for them at the wrist, even attach a hand to them for a rocket punch. The hands actually having poseable fingers means it can also grip other figures and hold them for poses.

The problem with Icons accessory packs is they had one or two accessories that should have just come with the figure in the first place, then a bunch of stuff that you could really do without, and the price was the same as the price of a full figure. I mean, those ones need blu tac because there's literally nothing they can be attached to. Not a whole lot of stuff to grip on a forehead or the back of a head, anon. Physics won't allow it, so if you want them at all it's pretty much got to be that way.

There's only a few ways you could engineer it differently from what I did.

Hardsculpt it in to the head. - very limiting for the figure and drives costs up.

Add some sort of grip to that part of the figure, like a peg hole or slot, which is awful when not using the piece.

Embed magnats in the piece and a sculpt, which gets complicated for production.

The whole point of this and the psylocke piece, the jean piece etc, is that they are

a) for photo setups and thus need greater versatility

b) That you'd never get them any other way.

It's fine if you don't like them, but if you have an engineering complaint at least make an effort to find a better alternative before knocking what I went with. Otherwise you are just arguing that you'd rather just have nothing and no options rather than something and some options.

The BAF Red Onslaught works great as a regular Red Skull head. It's not too big and it looks awesome on the grey jacket Winter Soldier Red Skull. Onslaught body looks way better with the darkened Magneto helmet. End of story.

In fairness, I was being dumb. I tried to put on the Spider-UK head and it was a really tight fit. It wasn't happy coming off. I've mostly fixed it, but I can basically never switch the head again, so that sucks. Ordered a bootleg to see if it's any good.

This happened to my Speed Demon, but not any of the other slim bodies I've got. My Pizza Spidey is actually really easy to get off. To get the disc back into SD's neck, I had to shave off bent plastic inside the neck that would usually keep the disc in place.

Yes, the ball joint for the neck isn't long/tall enough. I didn't fix it, just rested the head on top of the joint. You would need to sculpt a slightly longer neck and insert another joint.
