After lots of soul-searching, I realized that I fucking love movie Transformers designs. The Autobots have a very alien feeling, subverting familiar vehicles and human faces by having characteristics evocative of them, but failing to understand why why they work for some of them resulting in uncanny valley, while Decepticons are more proud in their native state and have more erratic designs with mouthparts more like an insect, joints that move on different points, and being difficult to understand. Combining the two, it might even be possible that in Drift's case he might literally be wearing a mask mimicking a mask that humans wear to hide his original face.
