I'm almost certainly biased and wrong, but I was wishing they had like... put the car hood and jet nosecone kibble on a ball joint instead of a hinge, so that they would have the option to make bots with the hood/nosecone on their chest, and reuse the molds for everything from early Autobot cars to RID spychangers/flipchangers, skyraiders and European predator jets.
Also if they'd gone to the trouble of reshelling Wheeljack so his alt mode was turned 180 and his feet formed from the hood, they could have reused it the same way for Technobot Lightspeed. Sometimes I feel like the brand could do some really great things even within the same cost-cutting measures they use. I'm always disappointed when they fail. I wish I could stop being a fan. Maybe a few more years of this and I'll be able to drop it.
