Xenoverse Trunks is so bad that within a couple of days of having it I already sold it. Got $30 for it on eBay without the SS head. Kept that for my PC Truncks even though it doesnt fit properly.

Theres no way these Yamchas are the same figure:
-Upper torso
-Legs
-Belt

The only thing they share are arm and shoe pieces, but even the shoes and gi have a different paint deco.

I'll be fuckin pissed if we don't get the other at some point.

Yeah, that's what bugs me as well, but do note that the Android saga Yamcha was first debuted quite some time ago before they showed Saiyan saga version, so could be one of those "work in progress, not final" thing. Most anons are expecting that we're getting both in one package, but I kinda doubt it. Will Bandai be an ass and make one of them an exclusive? Same goes for Tien.

Maybe I'm a vocal minority here, but is anyone actually really... excited for Yamcha? If it were DB Yamcha, in his desert bandit outfit I'd be down. But Yamcha is the biggest jobber in all of DBZ, so I don't see much reason to buy him. At most, I'd buy him if he clearanced out.

Tien for sure is a buy, and if we got a new version of Krillin I'd buy him, since the old one sucks. But Yamcha I can't imagine a lot of people being excited about.

I wouldn't buy his short haired form, that's for sure. That's when he had lost ALL relevance and was incapable of even putting up a fight. It's one thing to be a jobber and a whole other thing to be entirely irrelevant. In this long hair form he at least had some shining moments in various fights. Did he even land a SINGLE hit with his short hair?

That's why I guess we need a new base form Goku, even though the old base form head came with almost every Goku release.

Nah senpai. They're different figures. Look at the shoes. Long haired Yamcha has black shoes with gold soles and short haired has navy shoes with white soles. Also the gis are a different shade of orange but that could be due to the lighting.

I'm going to be honest here maybe some of you will understand this but when you guys post comparisons of figures you are inciting a flame in the minds of some old collectors.

Believe it or not when premium colors first started releasing they got A LOT of flak. The premiums were in a way competing with the originals. Autist were proud that they hoarded up or spent their money on figures that were inflated in price. I'm talking about the original Vegeta, Goku, Trunks, and other figures. The inflation of price brought upon a feeling of accomplishment and pride for these collectors.

In a way the 2.0 releases are still as insulting to these people as the premium colors were. The new releases devalue the over inflated original figures in the eyes of old and new fags alike and make their owners feel insecure about their collection they accumulated with neetbucks.

So please if you will post comparisons or reference the old figures do not reply to these type of collectors who comment on your comparisons. They will always hate the premiums and the remasters and they are not baiting they are generally upset their originals are no longer interesting to us.

I spent yesterday evening talking to a friend who just came back from Japan where he attended Tamashii World Tour Osaka. He had the opportunity to talk with some representative and got a few interesting informations. Sorry if some things aren't clear, English isn't my primary language so if you want me to try to explain something better, do not hesitate to ask.

- They have a new body type they're contemplating testing on some future DB releases but the early figures would look completely out of place next to these "3.0". It would also make the figures a little more expensive. Even if they don't end up testing it on DB figures, they will definitely test it in the coming months on some other S.H.Figuarts subline(s).

- The representative didn't say it was planned or anything but he did say that "bigger accessories like vehicles would be cool". (Should we assume the Figurise Mechanics subline is doing well?)

- The guy in charge of the DB subline is pretty enthusiastic about it. So enthusiastic than he (and his team I guess) often propose stuff that (sadly) can't get made or are delayed due to people not spending enough money on the line. The line isn't doing bad but they could release a figure a month if it was doing even better. Figures could also get a little better, for example, God Goku could have kept his slimer body but since they don't think it'll sell "that well", they switched for a regular body they'll be able to re-use on various figures which reduces the cost.

- The best selling figures are the "classics" characters. Apparently, recent characters from Super aren't really sought after by adult collectors in comparison to the old ones. The representative said that there's little overlapping between DB(Z) and Super fans, one of the biggest reason is Super having an overall younger audience which (obviously) doesn't buy a lot.

I wonder if this is those awful rubber Figuarts bodies that were shown a Tamashii Nations or two ago. No thanks if so, the 2.0's are just fine.

Shame the newer stuff doesn't do as well either, with as much as the US market is a backbone for the line maybe it'll pick up as the dub gets further along.

To be honest no one really gives a shit about Super. Its widely considered a dissapointment and anyone whos buying import figures would probably spend their cash on characters with a better source material. Not to mention alot of people have been waiting 20 years for figures as good as these with characters they have loved ever since.
Super characters are poorly written and won't have any staying power, so its no surprise their product doesn't sell.

I said this shit when people thought the DBZ line was dead like 5 years ago: If your main character isn't fucking accessible, new collectors aren't going to buy the supporting cast. The first SS Goku sold the fuck out and was reaching the same price, and what do you know: as soon as re-issues and SDCC recolors started happening, the line gained momentum. Lo and behold, I was 1000% right and now the community is huge. It's almost like nerds who don't know shit about business and marketing actually have more aptitude for it than people who make this sort of thing their entire career.

I'll buy the fuck out of Beerus, Whis, Gold Frieza, and Blue Vegeta, but I'm not doing it if fucking Goku is missing because Banda doesn't understand this concept. Toy collectors are autistic about completion, or at the very least having THE MAIN CHARACTER.

This is why I don't have a problem with bootlegs and will buy good ones if the company is too stupid to take a hint. Just turn on that money printer again. It takes one look at Amazon to see this shit.

Can confirm the Panoramation comment. Spoke to one of the reps at the NYC World Tour and they said it would be cool to start a smaller line with nice displays and effects.
Same with the vehicles. That one is more of a cost vs. popularity situation it seems, so I don't think we'll see any soon.
They have a lot of interest in continuing the Dragon Ball series, like with Kid Krillin, Bulma and Roshi, but said nothing's for sure past kid Goku.
The same person also told me that the SDCC figure will be the Kaiohken Goku, but without the World Tour box.

Goku, Piccolo and Gohan all sold out at some point yet the line was still selling so bad they almost canned it. A figure selling out and skyrocketting on the secondary market doesn't mean anything unless you take into consideration how old the figure is/how long it took to sell out and how many were made (and of course you don't have access to that kind of information).

tl;dr: Bandai knows better than you. Way better.

it's not that great a show. The animation sucks and the story is lackluster. Next to no hype. Goku Black saga was close but then it blue balled at the end. They need to a higher quality product if they want to sell figures. I wouldn't buy anyone of the Super characters.

Then maybe try making some good ones. Beerus and Frieza are the only okay ones, but Whis and the SSJB Goku and Vegeta are both shit. Whis has no range of motion at all because they decided to give him a huge, hard plastic robe instead of even trying to add in some softer plastics, and Vegeta and Goku are pretty shit, on top of the fact that their hair paint doesn't even match. At all.

Other than Cell, most Figure-rise model kits do not scale well with SHF line. Although scaled at 1/12, they're inconsistent, even within the Figure-rise line kits among themselves. For example, the Androids are 15.5 cm tall, but Trunks & Vegeta are like 14.5 cm. Be sure to check user pics before getting one to mix with SHF.
BTW, Figure-rise (aka budget) Krillin & base Goku just started pre-order today.

I suppose if they really started pumping out figures for DBS, I'd get Black, Zamasu, Merged Zamasu, SSB Vegeto for sure.

I'd probably get Hit and Frost if they made them, and likely get Vados and Champa.

I'd have to see how they look and what they come with and the price if they made characters like Cauli and Cabba.

I'd probably buy the robot GoD before most of the other Super characters.

I hope that the reason SSG Goku's gi is the wrong color is because they intend to release each new Goku with gi differences. This way we get different options.

This really only matters for the SS3 one, since that would mean it doesn't have that screw neck from the old one.

Not...garbage? $25 is like a higher-end HG Gundam these days, and the majority of those look amazing. Fact is, the sculptor on the DB Figure Rises is just fucking shit. There hasn't been a single great looking one yet, they range from mediocre to awful. Most are on the awful end.

I already had most of what I saw so I didn't take advantage. I regularly go to Otakon. No figma is less than $20 more than their standard price, especially for in demand stuff, which is often even higher.
Bluefin stuff may end up at MSRP, but non-Bluefin SHF also end up high.

Of course this is understandable as not only are these items imported, but they're generally expensive on the secondary market, even more so for popular character items. The prices definitely make sense but they certainly aren't original MSRP

I've been going since 2006. The last two years prices in Figuarts and Figma have been retail. You just have to wade through a trillion statutes and wall scrolls. Also it helps to be thin enough to fit into the stands. The don't keep them on outer walls because of theft.
