Yeah the Basics/Scouts line was great. we had over a decade of generally good figures. They kept killing the size class and bringing it back, but every time they came back, it was a treat. In Beast wars, they evolved from gimmicky but fin things, to impressively engineered figures. They were dead in RiD and armada, relegated to repaints or minicons, but then the energon Omnicons were full of cool ideas and fresh transformations, and honestly held up better than a lot of other Armada/Energon figures. then Cybertron continued to improve. The first movie line had the Real gear stuff, which was cool, but not quite the same. Sat out Classics and Animated. Then we got the glorious return in ROTF. SAdly, it feels like Cyberverse killed it. And I liked Cyberverse, but losing Scouts was a shame.
>>6413169No. Legends are absolutely not the same. Just look at the two windcharagers and tell me they're honestly the same, even accounting for size changes with classes in the last few years. I like Legends and all, but Scouts were better, and the fact that people are willing to just roll over and accept Legends quality for higher and higher prices is sad. As much as sizes have decreased and fluctuated, you still get, say, Deluxes as big as Beast era or movie 1 deluxes(UT and ROTF were freakishly big, and more of an exception, not the rule.), not many, but we do. We still get Voyagers around the size of past $15 or $20 figures. Legends are too big a hit from scouts for me to count them as the same.
