I wish Mega did some Destiny troop packs like they do for Halo. I mean, what they've got now is cool and all but they're getting into the same realm as they have with Halo - in that you have TONS of fucking hero figs and hardly anyone to fight. I myself have almost 300 spartans but like 50-75 bad guys in comparison.

Is there any news coming for the classics TMNT line? I just hope MC doesn't end it, so many more things they have to make, like a big fig krang, the underground drilling module, the turtle blimp, sewer lair playset,etc.

Paint was mixed 2:1 paint:thinner. Base coat turned out ok imo. Smaller details got a bit rough (espscially on the helmet) due to lack of quality brushes.

I don't know.

There have been a ton of sets that have just -never- come out by me. Available online, so I know they exist, but they never hit retail anywhere I could find in California.

Amazon is my only choice anymore.

If you don't mind papercraft there's Combat Storm, they have some scenery and a couple buildings you can download for free plus a couple other buildings you can buy.

I don't recall there being any Mega Blox news at previous SDCCs.

NYCC used to be the one convention they would drop news but last year was a massive bust as they only showed a few sets of what had been out for months. Meanwhile, the Sparrow sets with Cabal and single CoD were hitting stores a few days before the convention.

In the walmarts around me some had challenger, some had warrior, but they are sold out now, so who knows what they'll restock with. But yes, challenger was before warrior and challenger is the best series of all.

It's because the set comes with the M7057 flamethrower (the halo 3 flamer) while flame marines use the NA4 flamethrower, pic related

These things are great. Ive never gotten any megabloks but as a kid and now an adult ive owned many many lego sets. Big halo fan so picked up 4 of the blind bags (looked at codes but my info was wrong so i got different stuff than i wouldve picked.) Im blown away by the articulation and interchangeability of this system. Ill probably pick up a couple more but damn, how am i supposed to stop? Thisbfeels like a slippery slope

Also, do yall make your own? I combined stuff from two of the blind bags to get the steel grey odst look

Finally finished the first section of the hovercraft. Really wish i had more time to sit down and build. I did find some plastic containers for separating nuts and bolts it some shit on sale at Walmart today. That should help the part sorting situation.

I work shift work so I'm home during the week a lot. The problem is it's summer vacation so my kids are always home which means doing family stuff rather than me building blocks by myself. I still do sometimes it's just i end up with this slow progress. I kind of like drawing it out though because it helps me stop myself from buying new sets constantly. Mega marketing is so odd. They could have gotten a lot of interest and excitment just by announcing the mega construx heroes officially, or showing some upcoming sets or something. Instead they did nothing. The whole sdcc they did absolutely nothing, and we had to get pics of the aliens and motu and shit from other sources. It's baffling.

I do like the weathered look it gives, unfortunately that specific figure gave me some problems. I ended up getting three, the first two broke in the exact same manner (neck peg) from merely attempting to pop the head on. The third one was fine and I didn't have any problems with other figures of that series, guess it was just a bad batch.

I think the silver one looks best and I like the figures in it best.

The red one has the best other blocks.

And I think the arctic one is weakest, although I do like the little barrel fire. But I've also not seen it in stores anywhere yet.

I have the gray and red ones. The grey has more realistic colors and the figures are great. The red one looks good and the figures are very army buildable, as they are more generic, it also has the best weapons. I don't have the blue one, but it's on walmart and it looks very snowy. Yeah blame me for something that is clearly their fault. Like I said, the pieces have barely any friction holding them in place and I don't have to do anything to make them fall off. I snapped it on, flipped it over, it fell off. I don't know if those parts in particular are extra shitty or what, but the whole thing just feels cheap. Bad hand feel even.

Well, I'm a super Mega apologist and you are correct on the Cyclops. I have 5 and they are fragile as fuck. Anytime you try to move a limb something falls off, but it's more because of the design, rather than the quality of the bricks. The Atheon has the exact same issue.

I've seen people who don't plan on using the pieces just glueing the armor on.

Anyway, I recommend them a lot and they are really cool, but yeah, not meant for playing, more like very carefully posing.

This was a fucking pain to build and it's missing a SINGLE piece that, in it's place, was given a standard 2x1 block instead of a 2x1 slanted piece that it needs.

Its also super fragile and pieces like to pop off but other than that it's really cool and the box itself is nice enough to be diplayed along with it.

There's some tiny figures being put out with zords that's coming out sometime this year, I think. I don't know how they'll scale but they at least have a more suitable style than the old MB figures.

Was a bit busier than I thought, sorry. Just put together Wartortle. Gonna do another one in a bit.

Simple enough little build, and in this case actually looks pretty good. The face print is nice and clean. The landscape is rather lackluster, but I wasn't expecting anything incredible there.

It may fit on the smaller bodies (human marines and non brutes) but its a different feel and look altogether. I think youd be better off finding gold from the cod/halo lines

The power rangers figs are a more rubbery plastic than the halo ones

Just picked up these 2 from the maverick wave.
I was originally planning on just using them as civilian technicians for my base, but I might just get another to make a riot response unit/security team.
The helmets would go great with a welding tool though...

Bulbasaur I actually quite like. Not surprising, since the character itself is pretty conducive to a brick-built form. Head can't move, but the legs do, and the vine holders can rotate.

Pikachu... looks just off. The legs are too short, the arms are too long, and he's a bit pot-bellied.

Also just realized that you need to buy the individually packed Pikachu to get a non-angry face, but I guess that makes sense in the battle context of the set.

There are a FEW poses where it doesn't look that bad, but even at that point it's 'bad, but not as bad'.

Get a figure pack of halo or cod. That would give you a good idea of the figures. Also depends on what you're looking for; current soldiers? Ww2? Sci fi military? It really depends on what you want. Personally, the newest set I got and would recommend is the ww2 jeep. It can be used with a bunch of lines and gives you a good idea of the level of detail, builds and scale of the figs and vehicles.

The only ones in stores right now are Destiny, Halo, Power Rangers, Call of Duty, Ninja Turtles as far as I know. They're about to have a Heroes series with their incredible minifigs used for characters from various universes, there are pics further up in the thread

Mega Bloks Dragons. Just know that those are more lego-ripoffish and back then the quality was not so good. Modern mega (bloks or construx) is a whole different thing.

The Halo and Destiny ones are very customizable, but you need to get a few figures to have good options to combine armors. The default armors usually look really good. I can't speak for the CoD ones.

I noticed that they are technically compatible but the Halo and Destiny lines sometimes just don't work together. The only issue I have with the Halo line is the variety of figures available in physical stores, it's tough to find older waves or older heroes
