How do these things get made and for how much?

I understand that there are the obvious answers of "you tell someone to make it and then they make it", "capitalism has no place for feelings", and just simply "China".

I was simply wondering how literally they were made because I was wondering how they could be sold for so much less than actual, licensed Transformers toys. I guess I just find the whole process interesting really.
