The ogre-class figures look great and I love that they'll also work for like 1/18 figures. They could be like god avatars or just big monsters.

I want advice for who I should get from the Coliseum wave. My barbarian has paint rub on the arms and that basically ruins him for me, so I'm going to look at selling him so, so I want just a warrior guy to replace him. So I'm very tempted on not-He-man or the black galdiator.

I'm also considering the orc since the only one I have is Urzokk. And maaaaybe not-Skeletor. Possibly the black knight.

What are your thoughts on the preorder wave?

I'm definitely getting fake he-man and skeletor, skeletor having insane value in what i assume is three different heads? And well if i'm getting fake skeletor then i'll have to get he-man to battle him.

I'm an undead/evil only collector for mythic legions so the rest of the figures don't appeal to me outside of custom parts, but 33 bucks for parts is a bit steep.

I'll probably throw in black knight just because he's 22, but that glossy black paint ain't doing it for me.

Well I have the first minotaur and he has the same arms and they don't rub. My barbarian scraped paint off immediately whereas that minotaur has been posed countless times with no ill effects. I assume it was shitty paint on the barbarians.

The orbs on the tops of the two Magic Staff toppers are the same size as the ML neck joint. They were designed that way so you could pop on skulls or knight helmets and such onto the magic staves. The Faction Banners have the same gimmick, with the added option of being able to attach horns and such too.

Nope. The picture with the ogre seen here >>6429674 shows the actual scale. These are a whole new scale that go along with the current Mythic Legions.

Well 4H pussied out from putting a truly scantily clad female Barbarian, or even a slave girl archetype into the 2.0 line. Also the 2.0 naked buck is a flabby undefined mess sculptwise, unbecoming of Frazetta's work and even 4H's earlier sculpt work, and they refused to address the problem brought up by people not only here but in the official forum as well.

They're lacking any definition. The exact /fit/ term for the sculpt would be skinnyfat, i.e. not having any muscle, and decent amount of undefined fat hanging off you while not being explicitly overweight

While I agree some of the figures (Fem Orcs, barbarian Girls) would've looked better with more defined abs, they went with a more universal look so it could fit with mages and other less ripped figures. There is a muscular shape to the female bodies, but it's just not ripped and shredded.

As much as I like the dwarf and orc from the Coliseum mini-wave, I don't think I can bring myself to put more money into figures I won't see for over a year while I'm already waiting for the 2.0 preorder.

The ab crunch on these guys look real nice, and the ragged armor and bare hands/feet make them look far less intelligent then the wave 1 skeleton builders. As if the older Skeletons were refined and experienced warriors who retained some semblance of themselves after death while these guys are fresh from the grave shambling undead who act almost mindlessly.

Though the original prototypes had the long, jagged loin armor bit, but I honestly hope they come with the fur loin armor instead as it looks really good on these guys. I grabbed the 4-pack from the KS but I may be tempted to get a 5th just so I can have a bit more variety between the male and female torsos.

I'd say Knights has gotten more priority, judging by the previous all stars than Barbarians. Then for sure Barbarians are #2, owning to a lot of crossover with MOTUC fanbase.

Knights has had 2 legion builders, a deluxe legion builder in Templar, and then yet another legion builder this upcoming wave.

It's weird the demons, Gorgo, and Malleus were the last to go on the store and on BBTS but now everyone really wants them. They are cool figures, though.

Personally I wish they would reissue the first three weapons sets. No version of the hammer, mace, and wooden shield look as good as the first run of them. I wish I bought more for $10.

Kinda sucks the next All-Star wave is limited to 8 figures, but I have a feeling it won't be the last All-Star wave they do and eventually everyone will see a re-release.

As for figures I'd vote for:

Vitus - My top pick and the one I regret passing up the most. The new one coming out this wave is cool and all, but the striking red armor is still the best version imo.

Owain - My original pledge reward that I changed last minute and eventually passed on. Price constraints forced me to go with the cheaper LB figure, but I still want him as the epitome of a traditional Knight.

Otho - Didn't really have much interest in him at first, but he's grown on me, standing out as a unique character who's not a knight but not a barbarian hero.

Clavian - The most unique of the OG skeletons, and a fairly unique figure overall in the original wave. I wish they used that half armored trick on more figures.

Carpathius - Now that the Vampire faction has more members, this guy is far more needed in a collection.

Illgar - One of my favorite skeletons and one who needs to come back for those who missed it.

Orc/Skeleton Legion Builders - I'm personally of the belief that every time a pre-order is opened for the Mythic Legions, at least ONE older Legion Builder should be offered up. As Legion Builders, the whole point of these figures is to be bought in bulk, so they shouldn't be hard to obtain. Of them all, the Skeleton and Orc seem to the the two most requested and desired figures because everyone needs more grunts for their armies.

Those guys are super tempting as they'd fulfill my need for saurian figures in my fantasy figure line up, but their limited articulation (no wrists, limited e/bows/knees/ankles) and super scrawny hips and legs are big turn offs I'd probably try and give them some sort of loin cloth or something (i think the ones from the WoW Orcs would be perfect with some modding) but with all the other figures coming out I'm hesitant to invest in something that might turn out to be a "meh" product for me. I'm not familiar with MEGO's articulation, so that's not exactly a selling point for me.

That said, the guy's earnest enthusiasm for this stuff definitely makes me want to chip in on this project. He's constantly responding to comments on the KS page and he's had plenty of previous successful KS so there's little chance of this going south on people. Maybe if it gets funded and hist some stretch goals, they'd be able to squeeze in some better hand/ankle movements, but at this point I'm still on the fence.

It's stated right in the KS page, he's going with a Mego style of articulation. A flexible hollow torso with the limbs "strung together" inside of it. I'm not particularly fond of it myself to be honest, a simple ball joint just seems like it would be far more efficient and look far better.

The feet look tiny compared to the rest of the body. They look really cool tho. I wish they were cheaper given their lack of articulation compared to other $35 and $55 figures. The $25 one is tempting but I'm pretty shit at paints and buying the colors I want would cost 10 to 15 dollars so it's basically 35 no matter what

Debated alot but I dropped 700$ on KS 2.0 and i didnt really want to drop more money and still not see anything for a year.

I did want the troll as I didnt pick up the 1st rwo, also wanted not skeletor and the black spartan helmet guy and the dwarf. Hopefully i dont regret it and theres another opprotunity to buy them after they come in stock

I ended up getting the dwarf and the orc builder, but yeah it was a tough call. I almost didn't order anything because I already dropped $250 on the KS, and that's already a lot to give one company for figures I won't be getting immediately. If I'd been in for $700 I definitely wouldn't have.

What ultimately got me to order something though was finding out the series 1 reissue was only gonna be an eight figure wave, since the figures I was hoping to get (dwarves and orcs) aren't likely to make it in.

I've mostly passed on mid-wave releases, but this one I kind of went in on a bit too deep. While I didn't get the full series, I did end up with more then half of em, and would have actually gone all in on the basic figures if I could've afforded it. Ultimately I'll be getting not He-man and the new Dwarf, both of whom I feel look far superior to their original head usages, a Raygarr, because he's the only figure to use bare limbs on the tabard body and the colors are very striking and a pair of Orc builders because I couldn't really afford more then two. Of the mid-wave releases, this one was easily my favorite as it had the most interesting parts re-uses and combos along with two very needed Legion Builders. Shame it'll be so long until we see them, I was under the impression being made of already finished molds would help dramatically reduce their production time, but I guess that's not always the case.

I actually just got him today and these guys are right. This figure is awesome. I'd gotten some of the birds previously and hadn't been impressed with Four Horsemen but these figs have totally changed my mind and I'm gonna have to snag some more.

I don't like clear/translucent figures. If he was fully painted he would be the best figure in the line with his three heads and accessories.

Pic related is my 2.0 order, and I grabbed Not-Heman, Dwarf, two Orcs and Raygar from the Coliseum wave. I'm hoping there is one more 2.0 Pre-order so I can add the Boarrior, an Elf LB and the blue chick (blue skin, not blue armor) or maybe an Orc soldier girl to my order.

With the All-Stars, I'm at the very least hoping for a Vitus re-release, and would love to see Ortho or Owain back in stock (my humans are woefully outnumbered), and I definitely want to grab the Orcgre when he comes out, as well as the inevitable Arethyr figure that'll be made on that frame.

Multiple factors figure in to decide what we need to charge per figure, and the production and tooling charges are the largest portion of that. 4H sculpts two ups, which are twice as big as the final product, because they don't understand 1:18 lines.
Hence how poorly their original Power Lords line went and why they ditched Mythic Legions as an customizable army builder 1:18 line.

What do you mean don't understand? Just about everyone sculpts 2-ups or larger models in general. Even Hasbro used to (pretty sure it's mostly digital now). It's just to get a more detailed sculpt out of the figure.

And all of 4H's efforts at smaller scales bombed. Their figures aren't even anymore detailed than Hasbros, and are actually less complex, despite being prototyped in larger sizes.
It's very Mattel of them.

So when it's sculpted, it's two times larger than the final product.
They then use a rotoscoping machine to make it smaller. i forget the actual term for it, but it's pretty archaic.

They also did two ups for their ravens and likely everything before it.

I believe neca also does it, and yes, hasbro did it a while back before they moved to digital sculpting for their lines. Most who hand sculpt will use 2-ups for added detail, and I suppose only 2 helps retain it when they shrink it down, as opposed to say 3 times larger

Oh, and the name of the machine they use to make the sculpt smaller is called a pantograph.

Probably not, rare sought after figures regularly sell for 150 on ebay, and that's not including the super rare versions like the blanks that they sold.

Theres also the 7th kingdom figures that are just too rare to bother at this point.
