So the leaks seem to be legitimate. I can't believe we are getting Elita, Moonracer and Firestar. Hopefully Greenlight and Lancer will be coming too. Having the female Autobots group finally available in toy form is something I've hoped so long for.

A club story dropped some hints of possible CW toys that didn't get made, and implied to be using the alternate heads of released toys:

-Inferno (Unknown, possibly alternate head for Hot Spot, but we never learned what it was)
-Sideswipe (unknown)
-Hoist (alternate head for Trailbraker)
-Ratchet (alternate head for First Aid)
-Ironclad (alternate head for Rook)

They were obviously meant to be deluxes, but someone thought Devastator needed to be the biggest. Just like TR Galvatron was changed into a headmaster at the last minute.
A lot of Devy's combined mode issues would go away if he was smaller.

Just got my WfC/TR Optimus Prime Evolution pack and I love this TR Orion Pax. The colors are so unique looking, rather than bright red and blue it's a rosey red and soapy blue, he just looks fantastic. WfC Optimus is also really nice with his gunmetal grey and brighter red and blue vs the original's light grey and drab dark red and blue, and the sky blue detailing looks much nicer than the red detailing on the original. I'm a little sour on him though since I paid slowpoke tax to get the original right before this set was announced.

They're about the same on mine, they both have issues tabbing the back together while also fully tabbing the sides into the front. The hole for the titanmaster's feet in vehicle mode fits a little better on Orion, when I plug a titanmaster into Kup's cab it pops out right away. The new WfC Optimus is a little worse than the original with some bad sprue marks and some minor issues with tolerances, like the flap the forms part of his back kibble doesn't sit perfectly flat in vehicle mode and his hip skirt pops off a little easier, but overall it's not bad.

Definitely pick up seaspray. The chubby little sailor with a funny voice is pretty much the epitome of dork.

Aside from that, if you want a toy that'll give you a lot of play time, TR isn't really the best line. Overlord might be worth it though

As for your other issues, go join a local gaming meetup, or a drinkup. Or better yet, go do a charity event. Those are great places to meet people, and they're generally not assholes about strangers coming up to talk to them because that's literally what they're there for.

I used to hit up a local transformer toy collector group, but then I moved across town and haven't had time. It was fun while I did it though.

Overall there isn't as much paint on shadow spark prime body wise, its as if they traded that big portion on the chest for more little paint apps on the truck, even the head only has a lick of paint its just a more difficult application, though the use of the dark grey plastic was a smarter choice.

Its a shame he's hard to acquire, ended up painting mine (partially) to compensate

The plastic seems resilient and flexible enough to have survived a week of play without any stress marks or bends or anything, but if this breaks at all then MPM Bee's poseability will be at the mercy of two diecast on plastic hinges (two per ankle) that aren't meant to hold a position on their own.

I doubt this will be an immediate or near-future problem unless you brutlize the poor camero's ankles, but in a few years time when the plastic starts seeing a little age I can totally see reports of the feet breaking.

I said "could" if they want to be cheap asses, I haven't pulled my ones apart but depending on how they're built they could just be re shelled, or just borrow engineering.

If the possibility does infact exist they COULD use that, personally I hope the whole damn thing is new but if they MUST be reused I would rather the figure borrow from devastator, over the individual predacons being butchered back into the main retail, otherwise why even bother making them so special?

it would actually be more expensive to spend time trying to figure out how to remake something so different into these new figures.

Designing is a high paying job, the idea being that a couple extra hours of skilled design translates into plenty of saved hours and materials in production and QA.

But given a strong restraint that drastically increases your design time (such as "here, make this dump truck into a lion, and oh, we've got to keep the same joints, and roughly the same plastic mass") and you basically negate all of the savings. Especially when you know a unique mold will sell more units than a remold.

A remold is ideal for when you're not sure it'll sell a lot of units. Like Ft Max.

So are we. A few deluxes floating around too, but not at the cheap places. No Legends of course because wave 1 will never move because they're all repaints of mediocre (if not outright bad) molds that have all been released seemingly hundreds of times before.

I tend to treat alot of mine like statues but I do keep some smaller figures as time killers, though my go-to figures presently are all voyagers apart from tr fulltilt, I just like to look and admire, seldom transforming them.

I have to say the legends class never fails to impress as of late, would of been easier on my parents wallets back in the day if every tf had what some like tr wheelie had

If it's something like CW's deluxes, where they've already remolded some of them multiple times, if it's the same designer then it might be a lot less work.

But realistically, it'd be like remaking TR galvatron into Deathsaurus. After a certain point, you're doing just as much designing as if it was from scratch.

I still consider the ROTF/HFTD/RTS Scouts to be the high point of recent transformers, at least when it comes to the smaller classes. Really pissed me off when they did away with Commanders in favor of one-step bullshit, though at least they realized scrapping Legions was an awful idea and immediately brought them back the next line. While some of the one-steppers are ok, most of them are ass and I would sorely miss Scouts if we didn't have the current Legends, and even then I still miss the Scout-sized figures of characters from non-G1 lines.

The deluxe inside lacks ports (that we know of) and unless the "armor" has some movements to it what good would the back of a truck do for an arm or leg hanging off it

The Generations figures were great, the remaining Animated were amongst the best in the toyline, and holy fuck, the Hunt for the Decepticons... Yeah, some of them like Searchlight and Huffer are still displayable (the latter is still amongst my CHUG minicar team instead of the retooled Prime everyone seems to prefer) and a few combiners like not-Bruticus and not-Beast were solid, but the overall line-up and engineering was so lackluster in comparison to everything Hasbro was putting out on that same year.

At the very least it was only an experimental sideline that did not directly replace the main Generations lineup that year and forced everyone who wanted to consume their plastic addiction to buy terrible simplified Deluxes and Voyagers in place of actual proper figures. You know, like that other line centered around combiners.

That's room for 7 new molds and 5 repacks. That's all they need for the Decepticons, Female Autobots and 1984-85 Autobots.

Every Dinobots get repacked once. Novastar ships by herself in wave 4, so she'll get a repack in wave 5 or 6.

That leaves one open slot. Probably another repack.

You know what I just realized? We have one seeker who has never had official plastic rendition. We had action masters, prototypes, and catalogue-only charscters get figures, but not Redwing. Even worse, Funpub had the chance to release him in the last TFSS set, and they went with SG Starscream for no reason.

It's sad because he's apparently Dante from the Devil May Cry series in personality and appearance, and now we'll probably never get a toy of him.

His bot mode and proportions are fantastic. I think the truck mode is... passable. But yeah the action gimmick is just kind of retarded. Maybe It would be better if his torso spun near the center, but from what I remember it spins too far forward so it just looks weird, like he's off balance.

I like him a lot, despite the truck mode being bad comedy. If you pull his gimmick switch out all the way it locks and you never have to worry about his spinning waist again. Apart from that, be careful not to lose the smokestacks, they come off randomly sometimes.
He's still my favorite Prime, I don't like my Autobot leaders to be huge so having a regular sized Optimus who stands shoulder-to-shoulder with his soldiers is perfect to me.

I hope to enjoy him soon, he was one of those hasbro special editions, I wanted him to match with my SE megatron, question now is should I grab the SE drag strip (gen mirage redeco, I have the cw of both so I have a deluxe already) and SE overkill (classics grimlock redeco) or just be content I have both of the toys I once made such a fuss over as a kid.

Seriously I was lucky to get the megatron as a kid, only one on the shelf, shelf was loaded with the other 2 I lack (no optimus) and he was $50aud back then, convert that to your current and remember how old the mold is.

Fuck even I knew as a kid that was over priced but hay it was my birthday back then...he was also my last for 10 years before I came back

I hate this shit. I was watching Headmasters recently, and they take a lot of liberties to make the character models look nicer than the actual toys, which I am fine with. But near the end of the show, for some reason they start animating Zarak to look very accurate to his toy... meaning a big blocky slab. Which as you can imagine looked super jarring standing next to the other animation models. What makes them decide when to go for toy accuracy, and when to make things look more stylized?

It's a sexy repaint, but you could just get the Titan Master if you only want some representation of the character without emptying too much of your wallet.
I never liked this Megatron much myself, have the green one that came with Floptimus Prime, but I have to admit that's some nice-looking silver. I once bought a custom someone made of that mold into Brawl, only time I ever bought a custom and only because I paid less than retail for it. Thick paint aside, I sorta love it still today and like to think of him as a genericon hanging in the back of the ranks.

There already exist a "perfect" alpha trion, ex gokin alpha trion from fewture.

While its not to scale with mp's, infact its more to its own (small) line it can convert to the younger A3, its about the same height as a g1 optimus.

Anything else won't be accurate to anything, even the concept art used for the tr alpha trion was only used loosely.

I don't think its too obscure to be an mp...it just won't have anything to transform into

I was remembering how the original Pretenders just folded up into generic shapes to store in the shell, but they also had alt modes, even if they were a bit lame. Some, like the Pretender Classics, had slightly more involved alt modes than the typical ones. These new Pretenders look like they have no leg articulation. Where the fuck were you this past week? Hasbro explained it pretty clearly. The Primes Master toys hold the sparks of the 12 Primes.

They can attach to the larger toys adding some form of ability to the character. Each toy comes with one of 12 trading cards stating the ability the character gets when attached to one of the 12 Primes. There will be twelve card variations per toy, one per Character / Prime combination. These are totally random. No they don't expect you to buy 12 Dreadwinds to collect all 12 cards. The shape of the Prime Masters toys is to increase the play value with the Titan Master toys, nothing more. They're interchangeable.

The Leader figures each come with a unique Matrix design, that can house any of the 12 Primes.

Rodimus Unicronus comes with a Unicron infectioned Matrix. The Unicron matrix gem can also be used to 'infect' any of the other figures.

The Story of what Prime Master attaches to which Transformer and which falls victim to Unicron is part of the play pattern.

People forget that this is not just a toy line for adults. It is the top selling Transformers brand for ages 5 and up. More than RID2015, more than the Movieverse, more than Rescue Bots. They want kids to use their imagination here and create their own stories.

The adults can just enjoy the sculpts if they like. That's okay too. Just don't begrudge the new generation of Transformers fans their own stories.

Errr... source? As far as I'm aware Hasbro hasn't even publicly confirmed the existence of Rodimus Unicronus, let alone the nature of the matrix accessory that comes with him.

My point was that Hasbro hasn't commented on the leak - or any of the forthcoming figures that were leaked - so I'm not sure where the poster above got the notion that Hasbro has said that Rodimus Unicronus comes with a Unicron infected Matrix, given that they haven't even acknowledged that Rodimus Unicronus is a forthcoming redeco.

We see in the images of the Legends Maximo's card from the SDCC power point slide presentation. When Liege Maximo connected to any Transformer, it makes them verbal tricksters, like a traditional Norse version of Loki. They are now capable of convincing others to do something they might not otherwise do, like betray their side in a critical moment of a battle. Think of it as adding a Jedi mind trick ability to whichever Transformer he attaches himself to. Even someone who is usually as simple minded as a Dinobot suddenly has very dangerous mental powers now.

Each of the 12 can do specific things.

That would be a rather difficult gimmick to pull off in plastic. Dreadwind spring loaded Jedi Mind Trick launcher activate!

Seriously, what it does is provide a child with the potential to create his own use for this new ability in his own stories.

Being backwards compatible with TR means that you can add any of the TR characters to your own stories here. Overlord can carry three Prime Sparks in his chest and helmet, plus whatever Prime Master-infused weapons you attach to his 5mm ports. What power combinations will you give your Overlord?

Imagination has really been lost in a world of electronic toys and connected media. That's what this line is all about.
