Has anyone been to Hascon and want to share their experience? Is it as cancerous as SDCC? I'm 1.5 hours away from Rhode Island, I feel like if it is low key enough I could just go there and grab the figures, but $60 entry price is kinda steep and I have nobody to go to with. I also not sure what I truly want, presumably I'd want this guy but he'll be $20+$60, which at that point I can just commission a custom deadpool for about the same price. Will there be random booth that sells random junk, like any other Comic Con or is it will just be a Hasbro corporate event?

Posted in the last thread, but didn't realize this was up.

My last Mantis piece came in today. She's pretty good, Good sculpt, her hip articulation is a little limited because she's a BAF but otherwise she's got pretty standard female body articulation for a female ML. I'm pretty happy to say my GotG display is done for now.

Also got homemade suit Spidey today too. And with him the wing piece that finished the actual structure of the Vulture's wings. I don't have the turbines but I'll probably look for them on eBay or trade for them.

They're not bad. The weightyness of the wings make them a little floppy. Idk if having the turbines would help with that or not. The end peices attach just via a snap joint on the top. They hold up well enough.

No they just sold. I don't collect villians but Michael Keaton being the best part of the movie and the figure being only $7 made me get the Vulture. No regrets. They also had homecoming and cosmic Spidey but I had already picked them up for full price. Not gonna lie I was a little irritated with that.

Butterfly joints have been standard for Spider-Men for a while. There have been a few exceptions, like the body they debuted with Spider-UK not having them, or the Ultimate Spidey body, which I guess they deemed to small for them? But the USM body doesn't really suffer too much from it.

There aren't any Spider-Girls/Women with them, though. The idea of well articulated female figures apparently terrifies Hasbro.

I'm not a waifufag by any means, but the women in the Marvel Legends are always my weakness for some reason. I ended up buying Enchantress because I thought she looked interesting even if she didn't fit my collection. Just bought Dazzler and I can't wait to get Lady Thor. I think it's a bit because it's different, not the same few superheroes getting figures again and again. Doesn't hurt that imo figures of women look more aesthetic though.

Found a lone Loki at target in southern NH. I went to another one in the area and I only saw the Enchnatress/Executioner two pack.
As for Loki himself, the likeness is great, the helmet fits rather well, but the cape is a bitch to work with. I might have to heat it up so the pegs get straighter.

Gonna be pissed if Walgreens Super Skrull doesn't come with interchangeable pieces so I can just display him as a normal skrull. Mama wants to army build.

Ideally for me, it wouldn't be super skrull, just a normal classic styled skrull with those accessories. Also alternate hands and a skrull gun are a must.

Maybe a tad less muscle definition and some more suit wrinkles so the sculpt looks like a body actually wearing spandex rather than just a naked body with painted on clothes, but that's really my wish for the line as a whole.

Eh, kind of not really? His articulation is a little sketchy QC wise, at least on mine stuff like the hips and ab crunch were too loose to properly hold up a figure of his size. I also wanted him to be able to pose manhandling my other movie legends, and he can't quite pull it off. IE, can't bend forward enough to punch shorter guys, can't balance to kick them, iirc he couldn't even hold the average legends by the arm.

An anon a few threads back asked about Mantis being able to headswap Mary Jane.

Unfortunately mantis uses a smaller ball than the most common current females as you can see, but Jessica Jones and Mary Jane are compatible. In fact they seem to use the same legs entirely, but a smaller bust for default JJ.

I haven't tested Mantis on a "teen" feale body yet, but I think that peg may be too small for her anyway.

Should also note that MJ's head sits further down on the neck than most of the females, not too noticeable when she's on her normal body but a bit more noticeable if you swap her to anyone else.

Oh, one final note. They also seem to be compatible with the older bustier female buck that's used less lately (Rogue uses it too), but those heads are sculpted to be shallower so the newer heads sit low as well. Mary Jane looks terrible, for instance, but you can frankenstein a buff and busty JJ should you be so inclined...

Isn't that the powered-up female buck, though? The one they use for brawlers like Rogue, Miss/Captain Marvel and friends. I mean they could have gone single carded, but that thing is articulated like crazy for a ML and it's a brand new sculpt which I'd rather have then them hamfisting the jackal mold or something into Doc Connors... plus 1 of the figs is MYSTERIO, so at the least it's only 5 B.S. figs to buy or sell on ebay. My lizard rage subsided when I realized that.

Just hope the wave is easy to find- I lucked out on a moon knight and homemade Spidey but those are hard to come by for most.

Wouldn't mind a variant modern head for Connors as well, but it's still beautiful as is

You are probably good, just maybe clean the areas that contacted it. I think you should be able to wash them in soap and water. I'm guessing it would be more of an issue if you sprayed them directly and left a layer of the liquid on it. Someone jump in and correct me though.

Tamiya flat topcoat should be what you want if you are going for a matte finish. They also have gloss and semi gloss if that's what you're going for.

You won't be able to buy it online but, most hobby shops carry Tamiya paints so you should be able to find it there.

What are the rare/aftermarket-price-gouge figures from the Netflix and Ragnarok waves? I ran around town for an hour today and found 40% of my Walgreen's stores had them in stock, but only Young Thor, Might Thor, DD, JJ, Punisher, and Elektra--and none of those were packed consistently across stores.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I wound up buying the Elektra because I gave in to impulse. Her arms are pathetically disproportional to her body and oddly shaped, but the heads look amazing. The face print is better than any of the Figuarts I've got, and the only knocks against them would be the mold lines. (the other face-printed figures I saw in the wild were all slightly "wrong").

Eh I like her, the cute art certainly helps. She's so C list tier that she doesn't matter in the grand scheme of big Marvel Universe and she hangs out with losers like Batroc and not cancer characters like Captain Marvel. At first glance you might think of Gwenpool as le so crazy memer Harley Quinn knockoff, but she's actually a deeper character than that. She's a self aware NEET with confidence issues.

Maybe her initial design was really cynical, clearly trying to capitalize on Spider Gwen, Deadpool and Harley Quinn but with her story being so inconsequential, how cancerous the rest of Marvel comics is, and the cute art her comic is actually a OK comic in a pile of dumpster fire that is Marvel comics

Got my A-Force box set in. The figures are all pretty nice. Eye paint seems to be all on point and they have pretty nice face sculpts. Loki has a really beautiful emerald green metallic paint job.

Is starting to look like I was just plain unlucky with my box set. Every one one of the figures has messed up ankles and there's a couple of badly bowed out knees. Plus one of Loki's horns came broken off, and Elsa has a scratched up crotch. I keep putting off the work needed to fix it all.

I want to like Spider-Gwen but her ankles suck and she has no alt hands.
It seems like every female figure compromises on articulation and accessories, maybe because they don't have faith in their sell-through rate (which is somewhat justified, given that Misty Knights and whoever that spider-girl with the big flowing hair was are still warming pegs), but for actual girls people want it's a problem.

It doesn't give me high hopes if they ever do get to Scream or a She-Venom or something I'd be more interested in on the character level.

They've said several times it's for looks. I don't know about marvel, but the hasbro star wars guys have straight up admitted it comes from licensor, so make of that what you will. IE, leia is one of the only toys in the black series line with double elbows, but only because she has cloth robe covering the hinges.

Personally, I think it's a stupid decision that misses the mark on who's actually buying these things. Pretty much every female legends being nearly a write-off in the articulation department is pretty frustrating.

Absorbing Man and Sandman are still the absolute best Spider-Man waves. Hell I think this might be the worst Spider-Man wave since the Hobgoblin wave.
I despise Gwenpool and I feel nothing but apathy for Spider-Punk.
Lasher could've been cool but the part choices for him just makes him somewhat mediocre.
Otherwise I'm only excited for Mysterio, Lizard, and the possibility Prowler.
I'll also buy Demogoblin if the rumors are true because I love me some Goblins.
I hope Hasbro doesn't make Demogoblin's scales a metallic color since that'd look really weird.
Or just don't give him scales at all since I can't recall anytime Demogoblin was ever given scale detail.

Grabbed it last week sometime in the morning when they popped up on TRU for that short while. Was 120 shipped+tax. Basically you're paying retail for each figure but you don't get a BAF piece.

Heres a shitty photo of the gang. I really like them. I have no idea who the black girl is. Loki looks phenomenal, as does Singularity. The others are not bad either. She hulk is the most lackluster since she has no personality in her face at all. I really like the Elsa figure, as well.

Where's the best place to watch for this stuff?
I'm not used to looking for Marvel Legends, (I normally just buy weebshit,) and started getting back into Spider-Man for the first time in years.
I don't know where the best place to buy Legends is other than local hobby stores or typical online retailers.

Walgreens is sticking with the distribution model they used for GoTG v2 wave 1 when it first hit, so the cases are broken up between stores. It'll probably be another few weeks or a month before Targets in my area get the Thor wave, and another month before Walgreens in my hood starts to get full cases of it.

Death's Head II is all I wanted from Mantis wave, but wow, he's really disappointing. So much plain royal blue plastic with no metallic paint on it.

Went to toys r us and found Ares and Jane Foster Thor. An employee asked who I was looking for and he told me they sold out of Hela when they opened. As I was about to leave with Whor he came running out cuz he found one in the back.

Both figures are based on the concept costume colors. When they started to film, the outfit didn't look right so they changed the colors at the last minute.

This shit happens all the time where the studio changes something at the last minute but licensors don't have enough time to alter their items. The Ultron wave MCU Ant-Man had a different helmet than the one in the film due to the studio deciding to change it after seeing the original design on .

Truly a shit figure. I remember the brown plastic on her legs felt cheap and nasty, and was sort of semi-translucent when you held it up to the light. Her arms felt flimsy as hell and there was no way to pose her fingers that didn't look awkward. Her torn sleeves looked weird as well--why were they tied up multiple times? They ended up looking like turds hanging off her arms.

It's not about "realizing that human knees don't swivel" so much as Kaiyodo finally making the move to joints that make the most sense in a given area as opposed to doggedly clinging to Revolver joints everywhere. Which is a thing they for the most part used to do, to promote part-swappability and easy joint replacement.
