>>6482304I don't like this specific chart because of how overtly bias it comes off.
All Monster's Attack in particular is one of the more creative entires in the series, it subverts the established formula and treats Godzilla like a meta concept, some lonely distraction for a neglected child. I watched this film recently through El Rey's marathon and it grew up on me a lot, stock footage aside, which at least has meat to the story telling / action. It's cute, bizarre, and a little funny, where as VS Gigan in comparison felt like child fodder with cringy effects, stiff effects and insultingly obvious use of stock footage. Some of the Heisei listings are oddly forgiving, too, like SpaceGodzilla and the largely irrelevant 1992 VS Mothra.
Saying it's horrible / can be avoided is only doing a disservice to those interested if you ask me, and the same applies to Son of Godzilla, that movie actually kinda rules, with a very well-rounded cast, great acting, and one of the best non-Ifukube scores the series has to offer. Akira Kubo carries the lead role very well, and SoG has a special type of ending that really takes the viewer off guard, from what you would expect in an average Godzilla film.
Though really, saying Final Wars is "highly recommended" speaks volumes.
