when a company produces it, it's not just bankrolling it.
the TMNT movies, for instance, were produced by Bay. They looked like a bay movie, even though it wasn't directed by him. Why? Because as producer, he chose the casting company, the lighting company, the special effects company, etc.
It's the same thing for shows.
If Takara produced a cartoon (like masterforce) it means they hired Toei to do the grunt work for them, but they're the ones saying "hey, we need a new toyline to have a show. Here's what we want you to do"
That production credit is important.
You seem to think it's something akin to how IDW works. That's a licence.
A show produced by takara is a takara show, regardless of who licenses it for distribution.
I mean, I talk with funimation once in awhile, and it's very clear that the production company is THE owners of the show. You don't worry about the studio, you worry about the production company.
