>>6474502they become "rare" based on several factors, >character popularity
Spider-Man and Wolverine are big examples of this
>general availability Such as characters in the Space Venom wave that might've had the potential to be peg-warmers if that wave wasn't crippled by older peg-warmers (such as 2/3s of the Absorbing Man wave or two specific examples from the Rhino wave you can still find in stores to this day) preventing that wave from reaching as many stores as most others did
>exclusivityUsually store exclusives (unless they're packed with trash like the Kate Bishop/Vision/FalconCap box) are in high demand, like the current MJ & Peter and Dark Phoenix & Cyclops boxes. Con exclusives are the same thing, but exponentially more in demand, usually.
Obviously scalpers contribute to these factors.
Then there's the less aggravating reasons, like if a character is seen as being good for customization or troop building, where at least the reasons for people buying them up like obsessive spergs isn't as underhanded.
I would see the Lizard wave being as widely available as the Sandman wave, which is to say not impossible to find, and regardless of that not being sold for assrape prices online.
