Figures with this sort of aesthetic? So far I only know of the upcoming Creatureplica Wendigo (which I love) but I'm sure there's got to be more than that out there.

There are two interpretations, one is the classical Native American legend Wendigo where human just became a feral cannibalistic furry monster.

The Antlered/Ram's horn wendigo is from Stephen King's novel Pet Sematary

I remember there being a skeleton wendigo with a similar design... wish I still had that site bookmarked. Was more of a display piece than a toy and I don't remember if it even had joints, but it was hyped in a "scale monsters for your toys to fight" thread quite some time ago.

I swapped out a white Walker head for a resin cow skull some time back, then wrapped the limbs and neck joint in gauze. An easy enough DIY if you're interested.

I'm all for the idea of deer monsters and shit, but that embodiment is just... wrong. It's weird it exists honestly.

Wendigo were evil spirits who'd possess you if you let them and they'd keep you from dying in the wilderness. The trade off is yes, cannibalistic nature. From there different things can happen. You just eat and become powerful and hungrier. You could grow monstrously in size with each person devoured. Whole bunch of fun shit.

No deer monsters though :/

It's just the modern media depiction. For some reason that's how people want to see them and people love them. I made a kids book with a wendigo as the main character deer head and all; kids love it. It's the in vogue monster. Although I think it's gotten all muddled together with Luke skin walkers and leshens and such, but I guess that's just the modern mythos.

It probably became popular with that Wendigo movie in 2001, who the director apparently said came from a story a teacher once told him about a deer monster.

I like the idea that wendigo may eat their own flesh out of desperation but they need a physical form so they may pick up other parts of carcasses to replace parts of their bodies that they either ate or rotted off. If they can only eat human flesh, they would still kill and try to eat animals. It plays along with their gluttony.
