Yep:

-Titanmasters now hide in shells that resemble Pretender shells.
-Legends are like the TR ones with cockpits
-Deluxes can be limbs for voyagers
-Voygaers can be torso's for deluxes
-Leaders have a small robot form, then combine with something to become a larger robot.

All figures can have the new TM's interact with their armor (this armor works like the hand foot parts of combiner wars). Leaders have a Matrix like accessory to hold the TM in place.

A few years ago, in the throes of PCC, I suggested a 'hypercombiners' line where deluxes would have four drone combiner limbs, PCC-style, but each deluxe would also have a limb mode to combine with a voyager, and each voyager would have a limb mode to combine with a Leader.

Two years, two voyager-based teams in each half-year (Stunticons/Aerialbots, Protectobots/Combaticons, Technobots/Terrorcons, Dinobots/Predacons), with the leaders (Optimus and Megatron) for Christmas of the second year.

The problem would have been the drones for the deluxes, I guess. What would four drones for, say, Brawl look like?

But otherwise it could have been ganz toll...

Anyway, what if he Leader-kibble for PotP allows them to merge with the Voyagers?

So far we know that all deluxes and voyagers are combining again so expect trash transformations and endless remolds in those size classes, and leaders will have armored mode gimmicks that we really can't be certain if they'll be good or not. TM Vehicles and Legends are staying the same, seemingly.

I judge convention guests by how they treat staff/volunteers, JYB threw a total temper tantrum when me and my fellow staffers wouldn't help him do some thing that he needed to ask his guest liaison to get people for. We were in the main ballroom setting up some shit for a panel that started in 10 mins, and he kept telling us we had to help him set up instruments for his band rehearsal, when his concert wasn't even for a few hours. Dude threw a fucking tantrum.

Like he wanted us to haul all of his equipment and instruments onto the stage, and he could rehearse. So we told him that one we weren't the people to do that, and two that there were panels on before him so we couldn't do that, and even suggested that maybe he didn't want his stuff up there because one panel was some dumb nerd improv shit and we didn't want his stuff to get damaged.
He just started screaming about how important he was, this was when all he had ever done of note was like Vash the Stampede and MMPR. Nobody even cared about his band, it was just in his contract that if you wanted him you had to book his band too. Anyway he starts screaming about how important he is, and the guy who owns the con has to come in and talk him down. Dude was like red in the face, teary eyed, pulling some weird fucking shit. Stomping, and flailing his arms, wish I had gotten it on video but this was around 2006 or 07 so I didn't have a phone that could do that.

Look, I love Generations Kup as much as the next guy, but his original head was rubbish. You basically had to buy the igear replacement to make him look respectable. And beyond that, pretty much the entire cab and hood of the truck became kibble. The doors on his forearm were some of the worst I've ever seen.

I've noticed that a lot about older figures with higher parts counts and more complex transformations. Usually, all those parts just end up being fucking kibble. Newer figures may be "playskool" by comparison, but they're much better at putting the alt mode parts to work in robot mode.

When it comes to movie Transformers, I'd rather stay away from Voyager class Transformers because they're probably just double changers, but a Bumblebee would be nice. They probably made a Laserbeak from that one movie where he turned into quite a few things, but I have a feeling that they released him as a double changer, but I could be wrong. Too bad Hasbro won't go back to putting out Scout class Transformers. Whatever you do, I'd highly advise hanging on to ones you've got. There's one store I want to check out; but I know how it'll be if I see a TM Optimus Prime or Sandstorm, so I'm gonna stay away from there until a week from Friday at least because if they have either of those and TTC Transformers, I'll buy one and find myself with very little money. I came to the realization that my mom has six great grandkids, not five, so hopefully, I'll get another duplicate because then they can each get a gift from me for Christmas.

I'm aware of the "tiny head makes the bot look bigger" rationale but it really doesn't work at all and just makes them look like they have tiny little heads. I'm really glad TR forced a minimum head size for everything above deluxe.

I'm not really triggered by this because they're robots so they don't have earth biology, so who fucking cares. I know this whole scene was done for SJW brownie points, but it's really more upsetting that they're limiting themselves to do it.

I'd prefer if it was a cybertronian that turned into something distinctly nonhuman, like a giant mouth with spider legs and jet boosters or a crab/squid hybrid looking thing. Why limit yourself to such a simple shape when you could go from any one form to the next? It would have been way better to hear this speech from something that looked like an abomination. Plus I think we should have some kind of explanation for why all the female forms disappeared from or started showing up on Cybertron.

Sadly we'll never get that because that would be exploring the depth of nature and identity, and that doesn't sell toys.

Sort of related, it didn't help that people already disliked Anode, and most people complained that the cast in the issue didn't make sense. Since when did Nautica care that much about Skids? She clearly cares more about other characters but she acts like his death is the worst thing that's ever happened to her. Then there's the fact that of all the characters, it's Nautica, Velocity, Anode, and Lug. Nautica being here would make sense, but priority should have been given to Swerve in the "revive my friend" plot line since Skids was his best friend (plus the shitty situation he had back in the MTMTE annual, where he was powerless to save someone), Nightbeat (Nautica's friend, came back to life)since this is his jam, and Brainstorm (friend to Nautica, lost someone and put everyone in danger to get him back).

I also hate that Roberts literally named a new robot Mengele after the Naxi doctor....Froid was pushing it but it was a pun......this just felt lazy. Might As Well have Hitlertron and Stalinbot as names while we're at it.

That said the ending for the issue might get the series back on track.....from what I heard.

Because in Transformers the only time that happens is G1, and whilst there's nothing wrong with liking undetailed cereal box robots that simplistically transform into wedges on wheels if that's your thing, both airings of the G1 cartoon were so long ago that there are people in the fandom who got into the toyline from less primitive times. The "G1 with better articulation" vision for the line intrinsically means giving up things that were considered the appeal of previous lines like TF2010.

Yeah, that's been turning me off of the series. I got into it during the Unicron Trilogy and went full collector during Classics, so seeing the latter's concept being watered down into G1-articulated disappoints me endlessly. I think I'm going to jump ship after we get the Titans Return sequel line, assuming Cyberverse isn't anywhere near Animated quality.

The last issue i legit loved of his was MTMTE 50.

That whole twist with the mutiny was brilliant, and it punched me in the gut.

shame he hasn't made anything worthwhile in nearly 2 years. It's been long ass arc after arc, and letting me down.

fortunately the mutiners return in the issue after this.

Because the majority of people who are into mainline transformers toys NOW didn't even watch the G1 cartoon and don't give a shit about G1.

The ones that do are 50yo menchildren that went either full MP or full 3rd party.

The fans who collect mainline toys are 20 somethings who got into Transformers by BW/Unictron/Animated/IDW. They don't give a lick of fuck about G1 and "iconi" G1 designs they want either cool looking toys or just toys based on something that they are fans of and it's not G1.

This. Transformers was created at the tail end of an era where TV animation was an afterthought. Underfunded, half-assed shit with garbage writing that was only meant to sell toys. Batman: The Animated Series happened at the crest of the animation renaissance and generally had impeccable writing and animation quality, and thoughtful character design, and is still lauded as one of the best cartoons ever created.

Thats subjective, some hate the IDW aesthetic, some hate the movie designs, I can't stand the Animated designs (but I appreciate the characters that came of out of it, Bulkhead, Lugnut and Sipstream).

Does anyone have Misfire or Slugslinger yet? I'm in Oklahoma and we're very slow to get the latest waves, so I'm not sure what's out yet and what isn't and I wanted to know how good they were since they're retools of the Triggerhappy mold(my favorite in the line) and I really want to get the full set of Decepticon Targetmasters

Ok in terms of transformation they're a step down from triggerhappy, legs do the same, arms do the same, but no torso flipping.

My misfire is a tad loose but not as bad as skullcruncher while slugslinger is perfect joint wise, paint wise both are imperfect and every slugslinger has this weird mouth deformity as if he's wearing a white mask over a white face, I've seen 7 in different shops so far and they all have it.

I found the deco for slugslinger lacking so I added silver to his nipples for more toy accuracy, and while a shame triggerhappy didn't get toy tampo's they work just fine though takara's are a better match deco and color wise, I already had hasbro's triggerhappy so I just continued on as is

I find that most people who hate a particular transformer design are just geewunners who are mad that things look different from their childhood. I think there's something to appreciate about almost every style in the franchise. I even like geewun, it's just that making the toys look identical to the designs on the screen is stupid, because the animation of the cartoon was lazy work done by Korean slaves.
