Hell, for all we know, maybe that's actually going to be the weapons the official toy is going to come with, meaning one of two scenarios
A. the developers of the game liked the MMC sword, put it in the game, and Hasbro in turn liked what was in the game (not knowing it was lifted from MMC) and is going to make it for the official toys
or
B. Hasbro already had the design ready to go and gave it to the developers to put into the game, meaning Hasbro themselves lifted design from the MMC version
After they made Slash into a girl for PotP, clearly lifting the idea from FP, I'm willing to bet the more likely scenario is B.
Pretty funny to see things come full circle like this.
