Surprised the mp03 and mp11 molds didn't come out that good considering the guy behind macross designs did the initial mp03 designs.

We won't get anything like that unless takara initiates an adult aimed tf show with the focus on mecha porn, as in complex transformations and scenes where the mechanical complexity are the strong points not mecha fan service (which could work, just have THICC arcee show up from time to time).

Also your webm is a bandai product, just so people think takara think otherwise

I don't get this mentality of wanting ultra complex figures. Moving back to simple designs WITH simple transformation, and not just one or the other, is a godsend. I loved many of the figures but Hasbro really lost their way with the line starting with the second movie of over-complicating things, panels out the ass, and too many steps that had to be in a specific order. With few exceptions G1 through Classics kept things clean and simple.

Ok let me break it down, many of us, either us older folk who grew up with g1, or those edgy try hards who want to be all superior and shit, have come to like complex figures, why, because we've grown up and we want something that has grown with us.
Many times in a shop I would hear parents moan "man this looks like shit", one time they did say "they were much better as a kid", the later here I laugh at because back in our days they were just as simple, just chunkier and filled with diecast, essentially if its in retail, we should expect it to be simple, when the mp line came out I was thrilled to finally get figures that have "grown" to my taste, I can have my man toys and kids have their own toys, simple.

What shits me however is the discrepancies happening, movie toys tried so hard to match their on screen counterparts and as a result made them quite difficult, but it also made me expect something from each size class, deluxe should be easy mode, voyager in the middle and leaders should be for those like myself (older teens/adults/manchildren).

Now we got bullshit like cw leader megatron that I was able to transform blind, eyes closed, figured him out in just under 5 mins, I know people complained but now retail figures are all the same, size class just says how big it is and how much, nothing about the complexity, even leader rotf jetfire is much more complicated than TR leader skyshadow fucking hell.

But at the same time I don't want them like rubix cubes, there has to be a middleground, the mp cars before tracks hit a sweet spot from what I would expect from a voyager figure and thus their overall size, mp10 is PERFECT for his height, mp21 is appropriate if overpriced for what he is, then we have mp36 and THAT was unnecessarily complex, none of its transformation even homaged its g1 counterpart which is something most of the mp's baring mp ultra magnus have done before it.

TLDR I have expectations

You do bring up an exception many of us could accept however, titan class figures are essentially kids play sets, they offer (currently) supurb articulation in place of complexity, and they homage their g1 counterparts in transformation.

If there was ever a titan class that could rival mpm04 or mp36 or even an mp city bot I'll be done with this franchise, the fun in those is tinkering with hidden weapons turrets storage sections and what not, not 26 steps just so the arm just to connect it to the leg.

Besides no one could realistically afford that shit, and those that can would be better off buying those huge ass prime1 statues which are a better investment

MP Megatron just came out also Valkyries aren't that big a deal when it comes to transformations. Leader class movie Prime and Starscream have more involved transformations but the fit and finish is better on the Macross stuff because they are like $220.

Your opinion. The backpack is really my only complaint, and it's pretty minor. His transformation is fun, and he looks great in both modes. He's probably one of the most poseable MPs, too, great articulation. Colors and paint job are on point, too. The flat chest looked bad on the prototype, but in hand it's such a non-issue.

it's generally cheaper to buy the box sets than the individual components for the combiners.

Fruiticus is okay if you're into the garish colors. Do note that Onslaught has the misassembled knees and Vortex still used the flawed HFG port design along with that blue metallic plastic that stresses easily. Banana Onslaught you don't necessary need to fix but Blue Hawaii Vortex you should definitely sand down the HFG peg till it fits without stressing the port

Well, Generations is more accurate to a version of Brainstorm but may suffer from a breakage issue with the Headmaster depening on which one you got (there's a way to verify but I can't remember), while the TR is a Blurr retool with more articulation

Well if you manage to find a lot of them somewhere you can just pick out the yellow containers, dunno if you'd be able to do that in an online sale but if they're still sold in stores somewhere you might get lucky. Last time I saw them was a few years ago at Walmart, and they seem to have disappeared since then, shame too since I was actually following their FB updates as they got their first run of figures shipped to stores, I loved the"here's a guy for a buck" idea and wish they'd kept going on the heroes instead of trying to do Power Rangers and soldiers and other shit.

Titan's return Brainstorm definitely, it's a fun tool and doesn't really feel like a retool since the mold works so well for him.

Local Wal-Mart did a reorganization/remodeling of their toy section, which also saw the end of a six month drought on not seeing any new Titan Return figures.

Sadly, I was pretty much near broke but saw Blitzwing and Octane (one each on the shelf in a store that rarely restocks voyager/leader figures). HOWEVER, Wal Mart just started up lay-away for XMas so I decided to just say "fuck it" and grabbed both of them, then had them put on lay-away with just $10 down.

So now just got to wait until my next payday to get them out of layaway and I'll have a complete set of the Decepticon triple changers at long last....

If you were to lose the default headmaster (like for Rodimus or Highbrow) somehow, you're fucked. Yes, there are individual headmasters available, but NONE for the ones that came packaged with the large robot.

And I don't know about you but being forced to leave mismatched heads on mismatched bodies is not an option I'm comfortable being stuck with.

The same goes for headmasters that never got their accompanying body as well (see: Siren[Loudmouth])

Eh, it looked better with the IDW facemask but it still would have suffered from the same issues. I just hope POTP gives us a better Galvatron since they've released one Megatron in every line for years, a combiner Galvatron already happened, and a Megatron/Galvatron Leader would fit nicely with Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime.

It's too bad it's going to be a long time before we learn it exists.

I wanted to own at least one version of this mold, Grimlock if possible because of that color scheme, but every version is riddled with clear/gold plastic or looks goofy in the case of BWN Hardhead.

I don't know why people worry so much about gps with this mold. I've had my Dinobot since the 90's when he first came out and he's surprisingly in like new condition. Funny how nowadays people think that Animated series both had good writing AND designs.
Animated was the reason i completely left transformers community and decided that TF-fags are complete garbage annoying neckbeards back then.
Back in the day when Animated was on air [everybody] hated it. And they hated me even for bringing it to conversation.
I was a beginner artist back then and even got few flames when i was posting fan arts of Animated formers and some shitty dork was coming and whining about how bad that im drawing this shit-show design instead of proper G1.

Current Titans Return toy line is the first time i came back to transformers after that negative experience with Animated ones.
I kind of hate this situation.
What is happening? You all finally grew up and think that Animated has a nice design?

The amount of angry hate and shitshow was ridiculous back then.
There was a forum i was visiting with my friend. And there was a section about "Post Arts!" or something like that (every forum had an art-related section back then).

Agreed, old chum. However, it really sucks how badly they borked Targetmaster Hot Rod. I wish they had made his deco like the toy instead of basing him on some of the worst-animated episodes in the whole damn cartoon. Also, the fact that they just re-used the mold for MP-09's Targetmaster was lazy. I was hoping we'd get something new akin to how great Artfire's TM was. In fact, I'm hard-pressed to think of a toy I was more excited for that let me down so hard upon its reveal.

Look, I agree that copyright law is too damn restricting, corporations have too much market power, and that add-ons only increase the value of the base figure, but there's a reason Fansporject operates out of China and Nonnef can sell in the US.

This clearly takes the design from Rodimus' head, chest, forearm pipes, back crests, and Winnebago trailer. It's indefensibly Rodimus, and IP law in the US demands that you either defend your copyright or lose it. Selling hands, gears, or even weapons are really hard to get a reasonable copyright on, so those are off the suit radar.

It sucks, but that's how the law works, and they'll work it as much as needed. i wish Hasbro wold work with these companies to release these things, even if they were still very limited, so everyone could win, but until the corporate heads change, it ain't happening.

Also they might not be able to restrict sales because western laws are in favor of big business like Walmart and Target, the old 3H Enterprises Botcon team suffered this hell when they were trying to make an exclusive Skywarp and got met with insane laws that demanded they had to make a certain number of units if they were selling the item to the public, Matty Club also suffered this as well.

Also the headmaster gimmick is adding extra risks that wouldn't be there otherwise, if the head was part of the robot that diminishes many risks that could happen.

Eh. I haven't had any issues, although I never bought Weirdwolf which seems to always suffer from breakage on that hinge. But like, the clear plastic on TR Chromedome's windshields has held up fine despite being on a joint and taking a bit of force to open and close, and the paint has been solid too. Same on Brainstorm, his cockpit window takes a decent amount of stress every time you snap it down for bot mode.

Actually, I have literally never broken a single piece of transparent plastic on any toy I've owned.
