Yeah, that's the whole point, like Road Warrior or even Thunderdome the thing is that Max is just a crazy dude with no real interest in anything that then gets caught in something and then has to fight his way out, helping people, but still being this neutral, minimal figure. He'll do what he has to do and then he'll get the fuck out and never come back.
