Is anyone out there tryout by to stay well clear of the Funko POP bandwagon, but have a series that they know deep down they would end up caving in for should they ever get POPs?

I have a generally negative perception of POPs and would rather chug bleach than buy one, but deep down I know if Evangelion or Jojo's Bizarre Adventure got one I would end up buying them.

I don't like POPs, but I've bought some of the Spider-Man variants. Black Suit GiD, Scarlet Spider, unmasked Spider-Gwen.

I'll probably buy Sora, Riku and Kairi from Kingdom Hearts. But, the QC on these things really make them shitty.

It would be one thing if these were super obscure properties that won't ever have figures other than Pops, but JoJo's and Eva have a ton of great figures already out and about in the world that can suit many different tastes. Why is it that even though you would rather drink bleach than get some Pops, you would buy Pops of these series? That implies that you would rather drink bleach than spend the extra money (beyond the price of Pops) to get some SAS or Figma or scales or whatever from the series you like. Just spend the money.

The only thing that got me close to buying a POP was the Ecto-1. But as I see it, there’s no reason to ever spend money on one of those landfillers.

Even when they do pops of characters I love or franchises I'm obsessed with, I still don't cave. But if they did Manaka Laala from Pripara, I'd probably get it. Just because I'd be so surprised they did it.

Then don't. I'm okay with buying them depending on the series, look, and in relation with other existing merchandise out there, but if you never liked them then I don't see why you'd even need to bother.

If he already has nice figures of the things he likes why would he cave and buy figures he hates of them? The only way I see it making sense is if he has to have every collectible possible from JoJo's and Eva and even then just put the POPs at the end of your list and you'll probably never get to them in your lifetime since those series have so much merch.

I don't like pops but I have this one that my friend got me. I'm a huge fan of the NY rangers and a huge fan of power Rangers so a good friend of mine made me this and it's one of my favorite parts of my collection. Another friend also got me that goku in the background. Don't have any other pops though. And not planning on getting any others

I've gotten a few, maybe around 7 or 8, mostly as Christmas presents from family, through a promotion, or because I know there's little chance for better merch for the series as others have said. I think they'd be alright little knickknack types if the price wasn't 12-15 fucking dollars, that's ridiculous for what you're getting. In general I've found their pricing as a whole to be total shit, and I feel like it hasn't always been like that, but I might be remembering wrong.

I do have a few of the like, keychain ones, as well, but only because they were really cheap and I like having stuff on my key-ring

If there are no other alternatives for characters I like other than a pop, then I pick them up. I missed my chance on getting Bob's Burgers original Pops but I'm hoping they'll make them like they did Rick and Morty. They aren't the best but no other company is willing to make them. I can only dream of SHfiguarts Rick and Morty figs.
