That movie had surprisingly...almost none of toys.

i wish klocki magazines had more cool stuff like picrelated with unique pieces.

I didnt buy anything sinse Spring i think. Because every magazine had either those Ninjago ninjas or Nexo knights minifigs. Without cool pieces.

But yeah this Merlock was awesome. Instantly grabbed back in some cold winter day when i forced myself to go outside to buy some tendies.

I hated it.
It was so bland and dumb. Obviously for early schoolers target group. I mean ninjago is that target group frahchise, yes. But obviously i had high expectations after Klocki Movie.

Also notice how all 3 lego movies being built around Daddy Issues.

I highly doubt that.
People just like random specific sets that come with Ninjas. Like i bought almost all sky pirates ones.
But i doubt people literally just being a "Ninjago fans". Usually such people are in school...

I'm not going in any details but I got to see some of the 2018 summer sets from the 2018 2HY catalog.
So,here are the most important things:
-No Nexo Knights summer wave which confirms the winter wave to be the last one.
>We do get Unikity sets. There are around 7-8 sets.
What I remember I saw are a bike for the dog character,a big playset castle and some other small scenery playsets.
>New CCBS theme! The new line is similar in its aesthetic with Bionicle and Hero Factory. It's said to have a cartoon and app with scannable pieces. The theme is set in a computer world and we get 4 small robots "good guys" and 4 robots "bad guys". We also get a bike,two big figures TOA size "hero and "villain" and a Titan size monster. They use a lot of new technic pieces and masks. We also have a new launcher.
This is all I got to see. Two new themes and the confirmation of the Nexo Knights ending. I heard there are also some Harry Potter and Fantastix Beasts sets in it. I can't take any pictures and even if I would be able I wouldn't do that to put in danger someones job. Goodbye and I hope you have a good day.

I fucking love this set. That and Jabba's Sail Barge (from ~2006) were my first ever 'big' sets. I was maybe ten or eleven, and it really solidified how much I enjoyed LEGO.

I haven't read much about the movie, just seen the trailer. But now I've catched up and it does sound like a clusterfuck.

Finally summoned the effort to perform heresy on the Orca shark piece. I am EXTREMELY happy with how it turned out - I hadn't noticed how the placement of the eyes were compared to the CMF shark head, but I think it makes it look like a goblin shark or some other deep-sea shark.

The printing on the chin came off right away, but the stuff around the eyes took forever. My hands are still stiff from all the erasing.

The legs are awfully long in relation to the torso. If this is supposed to be a vehicle made in the image of a dragon, then that could work in a sort of cartoony, exaggerated way, but if it's an actual dragon with a seat on it, you might want to make the torso longer.

I think that with a few new pieces it could be smaller and still allow for decoration, weapons or whatever. I've been trying to build a smaller body but I don't have pics of yet.

again, no combustion engines, also the speed the dragon would move at (unless it flies) would make it useless, also considering it has one central engine located behind the driver (bad idea btw, the driver might get burnt), having it have grills over there doesn't make it look really good

It's not a perfect fit like a regular clip would be because there's a little front-to-back wiggle room, but if you push it in all the way it fits pretty much like it was intentional and the tail fins fit perfectly. As you can see it's a nice tight fit even upside-down.

Sanding will leave the surface very rough and frayed, so you'll want to use acetone to smooth it out once you're done.

You'll need to use a power sander to even begin the sanding-down process, as you'll just end up hurting yourself if you try to do it by hand with a piece of sandpaper. Be sure to wear a filter mask and sealed goggles and do this in a well-ventilated room because the friction will cause the ABS plastic to heat up and release toxic fumes. Of course, the acetone will also release toxic fumes both before you start using it and when it starts melting the ABS.

Once you're finished, you'll have a big mess that looks like shit and about $40 worth of ruined klocki, and the lingering feeling that if only you had taken the time to learn how to moc a little better, you could have devised a solution that involved sloped pieces instead.

I got that space shuttle creator set from a couple of threads ago. Holy shit, it's utterly perfect, best looking lego space shuttle I've ever seen.

My knee-jerk reaction was to wonder why all the previous lego space shuttles didn't have brick-built nosecones like this, and instead use one of those big, lame, solid windshield/nosecone dealies, but I can kind of see why. It took a lot of pieces to make up this nosecone, and on a regular set, that eats up a lot of the parts count. Still, I think I'd suffer some other simplifications if it meant consistently having space shuttles as awesome as this.

It's usually more about what themes they're in. Certain themes are required/supposed to be designed in certain ways, City, for example, wants to have these large specialized pieces for ease of building and playability, whereas Creator want everything to be brickbuilt to show off building techniques and have the bricks be reusable.

I think that guy missed your earlier post.

Basically, get sandpaper. If you want it smooth without using a solvent to dissolve some of it after you're done, you'll need some fine grit stuff. But you'll need some coarser stuff to get anywhere in any short amount of time. If you want it to go even faster, get a metal file.

grab the bb8. make sure to hold him level. have the sandpaper on a flat surface. scrape it across. it's that simple.

the acetone the other anon mentioned is to smooth it out, as sanding down plastic doesn't grind it away as much as causes it to fray. like an eraser would, really. so either use some finer sandpaper after clipping off the shavings (with a knife of wire-cutters), or acetone. be cautious with acetone, as it literally melts the plastic. don't use too much. you'll be risking the prints a lot with the acetone also.

Being a superhero fag, I'm leaning between these two. More on the Flying Fox, since the other set is a big blue wall and the fox goes well along my bricklinked Flash and Aquaman.

did you even read the rest of my post? fires coming out of an engine isn't steampunk. they used coal, both for the steam engines and anything else that required heat (gas and other combustible materials were known but they were more expensive and you would rarely have the equipment to make use of them effectively)

Thanks for the recommendation on the shuttle, amazing set. I love that the build has the opening doors attached towards the end. It gives such a satisfying feel of completion.

What's with the modern City theme? Half of the fucking city is police and fire departments. What happened to all those construction projects from 80s, 90s and 00s? Kids dont like castles anymore, so its hard to keep construction workers employed. Plus ninjago and nexo shit are all built by robots, its a double whammy. Add in the fact that the lowest denomination bill is 100$ so you have to carry tons of cash at all times, and its a wonder crime rates arent higher. How do you guys store your minifigures? I recently re-assembled all my figures and put them on baseplates, and now I want to find some miniature shelves/trays i can put them in to stop them getting dusty. I have checked eBay but the miniature trays are too small for the figures.

I'm currently using plastic drawer organizers and carton boxes. CMFs are kept with their bases and other minifigs are kept on baseplates or in 2x? plates

I sort them by general theme and put them in boxes. I usually take capes off so they don't get wrinkled. Some figures have capes that are a bitch to put on so i store them in a drawer standing up. Also figures that i know are more valuable i keep in a drawer standing up

Currently they're all in a container if they're not set up in a scene on my shelves. I have a shelf that has Pirates on one side and Nexo Knights on the other, one for Elves and general Castle and just started a Ninjago shelf. It'll be fun to experiment with asian architecture to make the background buildings.

I'd make the hood atleast one plate lower.
I see that the red curve piece now doesn't support that because of the modified plate with ear being used to connect the 180 snot white curved underside and bumper. Maybe use a half babyarch? This way the striping could be made a little more consistent too.

I'd also try and use some 1 x 2 panels to raise the top line of the doors by a plate or two while still seating two figures on jumpers.
Maybe try and lower the figures by just one plate.

I personally go for tires just slightly bigger, but i can see the current ones fitting in better with other 4-wide vehicles you might still use.

I agree these might sound very nitpicky, but from a bunch of years of experience these things really add that much more believability.

But like the other anon said, your cars have improved a whole lot over the years. (that van still has a softspot for me though) Your flying cars specifically shine.

Just about finished up redoing an old car but still have to make some good pictures one of these days.

If the bags aren't numbered, I just... struggle? I open each back with scissors, but don't dump them. Hold them upright. Or I put them all into ziplocks? Dumping them out and then sorting them is kinda inefficient IMO, when they're already sort of sorted

that sounds similar to me, I'm gonna put mine on my bookshelf - but I'll have some figures around different places on the bookshelf too, hiding behind books or in little book-caves idk. I'm sure it's the type of build that is a haven for dust but... I think I'll just get one of those canisters of air and give it a blast every six months.
