It always pains the fuck out of me when I see someone talking about how modern cartoons are awful and how old cartoons are better... then they specify those old cartoons to be GI Joe, Transformers, and other 80s shit. First off, Popeye, Looney Tunes, classic Dinsney, those predate that shit by decades, number two, those 30s and 40s cartoons had way better animation than those 80s toy commercials. That's not an exaggeration- those cartoons had 10-40 frames of animation per second depending on their intended market or budget, while 80s cartoons had 3-4 per second and often had animation errors out the ass and the plots often dumb because they were made to sell toys, not be high art.
Anyone claiming that Transformers was better than Popeye overall is a fucking dumbass that's never seen genuine old cartoons. Frankly, claiming anything by Sunbow is better than Fleischer, WB, Disney etc makes you look retarded. It wasn't until the 90s with stuff like Batman TAS that animation studios began caring again, making stuff that wasn't a toy commercial.
