WF KQ is just a recolor. No particular QC issues on that release from my copy and from what I've seen from other owners.

Depending on which release Pt4 Jotaro you have the shading can vary from the original tanned shade to the lighter skin tone of the reissue. No odd quirks from what I've seen

My 4taro has a chip on his neck, and the neck itself is a far darker color than his head, which looks kinda obvious. Fortunately the collar covers up most of it.

Actually now that I look at it, a lot of the articulation looks the same. I hope the SAS Big line isn't just upscaled regular SAS figures with slightly better detail.

Hol could have a hand with Emperor clipping through it for that pose and also an emperor prop.

D'Arby could have his soul book and the soul chips of Polnareff and Joseph., as well as an old head (maybe)

December seems to be the main release month for 3 whopping figures from Medicos. I guess WF Gyro but Nuu's review should fill you in on his quality. Johnny and Ruby got a spotlight on a magazine page but I can't remember the exact details if anyone dumped other info on it.

Otherwise we saw prototypes of Valentine and D4C with a pic made from Medicos on how they would approach a Valkyrie SAS.

Overall some decent stuff but this line is a slow crawl now

Just wanted to make a post about how much I love the SAS general. Even though it's a dying line you guys still keep discussions alive by bringing up new topics and showing off crazy poses with crazy collections. I was inspired by this general to start collecting Jojo SAS, some nice guys on here pointed me in the right direction of where to start, and now they are some of my favorite figures in my whole collection. Only things we really seem to butt heads on was the controversial release of Gyro.

This post makes me feel terrible about shitposting. Which sucks, because after years of SAS threads, shitposting about how bad Medicos is today compared to 8 years ago is all I have left in these generals. I'm glad someone brand new to the line can still experience it and be inspired by collections in this thread. Garbage company aside, they're wonderful figures.

They were small fries and didn't have contracts nailed down like other players in the field such as Kaiyodo, GSC and Bandai. So when prices started going up due to Yen being printed they were the first to start going up in price HARD. Other companies had factory prices either locked in place or had modest price hikes (1000-ish yen) on re-releases.

Eventually Medicos became the most expensive option on the market at a much quicker pace which made it impossible to compete with other lines. This meant less units being sold which meant prices went up even faster and they didn't have re-release factory rates locked in like others did so even re-releases couldn't save them since they ended up costing $20-30+ more. Then you have stupid exclusivity shit because they just can't afford to do mass releases anymore with the number actually being sold.

GSC is having a hard time too but being able to re-release popular figures at much more reasonable prices is helping them maintain profits. The web shop being global and having all that infrastructure set up prior to the market shitting itself also helped.

Most people who collect figures have a wide range of properties in their displays. You also have to consider Japanese collectors are the main source of income and they are the ones who got hit hardest by all of this. They didn't have an exchange rate helping to shield them from price increases for several years, they got hit immediately with each hike.

Rohan was 7,800 yen at the end of 2016, in comparison figma were around 5,000-6,000 yen in that same period. Medicos also lacked any kind of properties that had huge western appeal which is what's helping Bandai and GSC stay profitable. The web shops also help those companies stay profitable. Medicos only has Wonfes exclusives and those just alienate both Japanese and western collectors. It's a perfect storm of shit beyond their control and they couldn't do anything to stop it.

At this point? Probably not. Their IP's are too reliant on Japanese sales and those are in the garbage at this point. Japanese collectors are paying the equivalent of $80+ for a Marvel Legends right now which has total sales down so damn low across all brands that there is no way Medicos can do business like they did 3-5 years ago. They are just limping along abusing Wonfes exclusives and catering to a TINY market that can still afford to buy this shit because global appeal for their IP's is too low and they have no infrastructure set up for global web shop exclusives which could help them a lot by lowering risk.

Baoh kinda confirmed it now I guess? Before that it was only Gyro that was speculated to get a retail release down the road. Seems that road is long though as there's no sign of it coming out within the next year.

Seems like the bottom line of SAS is now "If you have the patience of a saint, you can wait for retail, but if you want to get it a year and a half early, better off paying out your nose for the exclusive."

Though Yamcha and Tien exclusive hurts more since they feel best as general release figures. This WF strategy also hurts but I guess with the slow release schedule I can save enough to bite if the colorway is solid and the quality holds up on Mandarake or other 2nd hand stores.

Where do I even begin? I'd say the arms are the worst atrocity. They have no shoulder joints and are placed on awkwardly positioned ball joints. The only way to make them look the slightest bit decent is by turning the shoulder towards the viewer. It's even worse when you consider that other figures like the pictured Magician's Red solved this problem very nicely by having separate joints at the shoulders. The face sculpt is laughably bad, even compared with other SC figures. The body sculpt has really sharp, unnaturally shaped muscles and huge noticeable gaps at the neck and between the chest and the abdomen. The pants have modeled cloth seams right next to the plastic seams from the modeling process. The ball joints at the legs' base are even more noticeable than usual and both of them are very loose on my Polnareff.

The posing is alright (except for the arms) and he comes with a lot of hands but that's not enough to compensate for the horrible faces and the awkward sculpt.

Old Joseph is perfectly fine as long as you get the rerelease. The figure is engineered the same way as most of the the line. Old Joseph and DIO are honestly the best non-stands in the Stardust Crusaders set. I say to get the rerelease because the original has differently designed thigh joints that are much more fragile than the ones on the rerelease and have a tendency to break.

Yea, I got one mainly to stand next to Silver Chariot. I couldn’t believe how horribly engineered he was. He uses similar thigh joints to DIO, but they used DIO’s design to camoflouge the joints (and seemed to shrink the gap on the Awakened variant). Arms are terrible, have little to no articulation and still looking bad. He comes with three faces and not one of them is smiling (though I do think his face sculpts are fine). Thankfully, he’s easy to find on the cheap, so if you really want a P3 Paulnareff you don’t have to pay all that much for a poorly engineered figure.

Sometimes sellers will say. Amiami for instance might say, old version/edition for the original. If you're buying from someone here, they should say, if not, make sure to ask. As far as how to tell once you have it in hand, the newer release has the glossy box where as the original shouldn't.

Main Jojo characters as WF exclusives is easily worse imo. It seems like Bandai actually puts more effort into the web exclusives compared to the normal releases(see Nappa vs 2.0 scouter Vegeta). And since I'm a burger, getting them is no problem thanks to Bluefin distribution. On the other hand, getting a Gyro is ridiculously hard and expensive for me, I basically have to wait for Gyro second(whose years away at this point) and pray he doesn't have a shit color scheme.

This was mentioned in another thread but believe it or not this guy was actually funded for his customs and robbed people $150-400 for each "custom" and never followed through with it. He always posts in SHF Fb group about how he's in a cinch and asks money from other people but then goes ahead and spends $200+ on more figures only to defile them and gets butthurt when no one on ebay will buy his abominations. This isnt to mention his cocky fucking attitude as well. Dude just fucking sucks all around.

Not that Anon, but I would. Robin Mask is pretty based in it too. Just see if you can get past the early chapters where it's an Ultraman parody. But if power of friendship stuff triggers you don't bother. Other than that, it's a really fun ride

I forgot to actually get any of the Kinnikuman SAS, though now I own 14 of the Figuarts figs. Kinnikuman is great if crazy supermen wrestling sounds interesting to you. Like the other anon said, Power of Friendship is an actual legitimate thing in the series, but it's actually a focal point in a couple arcs in a way that makes it seem less cheap. There even comes a point where Kinnikuman & Co get lectured on the fact that relying 100% on friendship power prevents them from developing their strength as individuals, which I thought was great of them to address. Definitely check it out.

If it's from somewhere like California to Texas it could be around 5$ or less with USPS. Depends on how you ship it. It also depends on of it's the smaller more common size of SAS box or the larger ones like Jonathan.

Try seeing if the USPS regional shipping option helps lower costs. Also see if you can print out the shipping label online to save some money and time. I'd estimate the cost being around 5$, give or take. Unless where you're shipping to is across the whole country.

So I just got Crazy Diamond off Manny, new, and out of the box, his left arm's bicep peg is just stuck. It's got the tiniest wiggle room but the peg itself is stuck and its gonna rip, it won't rotate correctly. I tried running some hot water over it to see if it would loosen, but no dice. OP He's pretty wrong. The sculpt on part 3 SP and part 4 SP is different, they come with different accessories afaik, and pt 4 SP generally has better colouring and sculpting quality.
