Just whatever you do, don't get anything electronic. Get this kid a Stormtrooper or something if you have to get him a plastic toy. Otherwise, give him a bucket of sidewalk chalk and some pool noodles, or some cool dinosaurs. Or shit--give him a puzzle. My real go-to is always those huge sticker/color/story activity books that you can find at grocery stores for like $10./

i like to scope out what kind of collections my younger relatives have before i buy something, if i can, so they dont end up with a duplicate. sometimes ill leave a gift receipt under the wrapping/box just in case.

I bought my cousin a singing Elsa doll and she played it on repeat for months, driving the parents crazy. I didn't mean for them to hate it so much but the kid was crazy on Frozen and it seemed like something she'd love, which she did.
