Are the neon variants solid ? I'm not hamhanded but I'm always a bit wary about translucent plastic, and with dio's arms and jojo's ball sockets, I'd like to know if anyone have had a problem.

I know clear plastic is known to be crappy... but so are red plastic among others. Unfortunately my flame Jojo has quite a few places where the red plastic (shoulder ball sockets, for example) is showing stress marks. Even if clear plastic would make you nervous, it's probably not horribly worse than other options. My Sakura feels pretty fine.

But at the end of the day I don't expect any of my Beast Boxes to break for at least a few decades.

I dunno if the 52toys staff are still lurking, but in the previous thread there was some talk of cutting the neon blue variants in favour of camo for all figures. I just want to throw in my two cents and say I'm specifically collecting all the neon blue figures and I'll be really disappointed if Delta doesn't get one.

I can understand changing things up for a second wave though, and I would definitely get behind a new palette swap (like camo for example) for the next set of molds. I just don't want a potential matching set to be cut short.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say I really appreciate the producer/s coming to us for feedback! I for one would never have known BeastBox existed of it weren't for these threads.

Lastly, I'm really interested in the BBFD Moma and it might push me to buy the BBPD Dio if there's going to be more in that theme.

I second the city services color theme that anon on >>6597676 mentioned, JoJo as a yellow contruction mech is a good choice, for Delta I'd suggest a ambulance color theme
Also the camo scheme is one of my favorites, I hope that you do regular version of all the BB in this pattern, it could be desert camo or city camo or jungle camo
I really like the idea of >>6599043 of bone tampos over black plastic, even the bones could be glow in the dark, that would be glorious
The neon blue scheme is really nice, it's a pity that the JoJo one is exclusive

Jojo came today and ghost dog a few days ago. The clear winner is ghost dog. The dino just oozes personality and the simple but elegant transformation fits the style perfectly. Jojo feels like a more complete product, but stuff like shitty feet that pop off anytime you want to pose it put it down a few pegs for me. I highly doubt they'll be able to put out a mold that's better than the dino to be honest.

Yea I missed it before too. Well actually it was up and I passed on it then immediately regretted it. I don't see why it wouldn't be up again if there is demand. It doesn't seem like they're actually limited in the same way the convention exclusives are.

I'd say its up about as often as the sakura ones are. I've never popped off one of my JOJO's feet before, but I'm really careful around joints that small in general. Like the instructions show I always fold them out by directly moving the joint rather than grabbing the end of the foot.

Holy shit dude, take a chill pill. From everything I've seen so far, the items hitting Amazon on an infrequent basis is almost certainly them digging into some backstock. They purposefully produced more of the Sakura and Ghost Dog exclusive DIOs, and if they hadn't they almost certainly never would have been available in the West at all.

They're not doing new production runs of Sakura and slapping more of them on Amazon. They're selling out a small number set aside for Amazon, then they go and check if they have some more to add to the store. Which is why they keep appearing in small batches and selling out relatively quickly.

These are small $20 that aren't based on a pre-existing property, and are not the sort of thing that is ever likely to gain a huge amount of value. If you're really worried about that, track down the various exclusives that were only available in tiny batches. Right now you're just getting upset about them continuing to add their back stock onto the Amazon store for their customers, as if they're betraying some vow that all these figures were of a miniscule production run when they've never said anything of the sort. Once they're all sold, there almost almost certainly never be any more produced.

Its a small company and lots of people are just getting into the line.

One of the creators even responded at the last thread and immediately restocked Sakura once it was demanded which is both good for people that missed out and people that are only interested in that color.

Having the word limited just means it was sold in that event but by having it available for everyone in the future ensures the growth of this line. I'm hoping they have the past limited colors available on Amazon as well.

You're confusing exclusive and limited edition. It's still limited, just not as limited. They never claimed they would only be available one time, just that there were fewer of them than a standard run. Which is accurate even if they make more available later.

This. Beast Boxes don't have a big enough following yet that a certain color varient will sell based just on how limited it is like chase pops do. People new to a toy line buy a varient because they like how it looks, and if it's not availible then that's a lost sale. Personally I wouldn't have bought any if Sakura hadn't been re-stocked, but now that I like the toy line I would consider buying ones just based on rarity. Give it time and keep supporting the creators and Im sure there will me more limited editions in the future

a varient could have an unlimited run, but if it's only sold in one place it's still an exclusive. Conversely a varient could be sold everywhere but only have 500 units then it's a limited edition. While often used in conjunction with each other they aren't interchangeable.

the only value that matters is the initial retail value of the toy, because that's the money the company making it actually gets. they don't care that your toy might be worth less if you decide to sell it, all they care about is the initial sale and if re-releasing a "limited edition" toy means they make more money and broaden their market they will do it.

Favorite the Amazon Store for Topop and check once a day, or just keep an eye on the thread. Whenever one of the exclusives reappears I make a point of posting about it here in the thread.

I decided I'd get a Jojo and a standard DIO for some friends for Christmas, and my girlfriend spotted the Sakura DIO when I asked what she thought of them as potential gifts. She immediately loved it. Heh. I guess I got lucky as that one was in-stock, so I made sure to order it immediately as a gift for her.

Sakura has disappeared and reappeared a few times over. In fact, its possible a few more were added to Amazon specifically because a few people asked the producer nicely, but it could of already been in the cards for all I know. JOJO just has lower demand in general I think. Honestly, I think JOJO just needs the right color schemes to get people more excited. He's a very fun little figure.

Not for mine. I can smell mine almost as clearly as when I first took it out and I've had mine for a month. It might depend on how hot the beads get or something, which might strip out some of the scent.

I think the Optimus color scheme is already pretty damn good. You can tell which molded details are supposed to be the smokestacks and which ones are supposed to be the wheels.

And I think they're doing the bulk of their business online. The physical store they sell these things at don't carry a big stock of them at all, and the prices are the same as online, with the store presumably getting a cut of the profits.

Its a courtesy that they are being offered at all, and nobody is strong arming you into buying them. There is this economic concept you might of heard of before called "scarcity". Items of value that are fewer in number tend to be worth more on the market.

And as per your other comment, I think they're pretty great toys. Some of my favorite figures in this low price bracket. Normally I buy much more expensive japanese robots and kaiju shit.

Should be. Not too certain because there's never an "In Production" or "Out of Production" list, but I believe they said that camo Dio was in the works because of the popular demand, and there's evidence of camo Jojo getting the same treatment after one camo Jojo picture was released.

It can still bend down with the legs pulled out. Its not a big deal or anything. Lots of times when somebody gets their first DIO, they don't realize there is a sort of hidden shin joint that can be pulled to extend the legs to their proper height. I was just making sure they knew it existed.

It's impossible pedantic of me but I wish the leg decals on dio were full triangles without a notch taken out of the side, that way it would look proper extended or not.
Compressed, the leg would look like it had one large square stripe.
Extended, it would look like two opposing triangles.

Dio doesn't have one as far as I know. Jojo is the only one of the two so far with a box, but it's big enough that Dio should fit in there. I'm assuming Moma is approximately the same size as Jojo in cube form so they should be able to use the same box.

Honestly the articulation looks really solid to me. Legs seem to have a good range, you can move his tusks, ears, trunk. Don't see how it could be improved very much.

I've been out of the loop since the dio and ghostdog came out over the summer, have they improved the QC? The dinos were pretty fun, but they had weak arms and necks that were varying degrees of fixable.

Got my Ghost Dog today. Looks so good in-hand, the best colourway I've seen from them to date barring maybe the green and blue exclusive DIOs. I especially love the electric blue painted into the little techno-grooves, makes them look like lights.

Maybe. Production/distribution delays always come with the toy territory though, even for huge corporations. I'm not really bothered by it. I do hope that Delta hits within the next 3 months or so.

Oh, huh, I forgot that thing existed for a second. It's a similar idea, but the Rath was a lot bigger. Maybe it could be the same people under a different company name--this did come out before Beastbox was a thing. But I sorta doubt it. Turning into cubes isn't exactly the most unique idea in the world, I'm sure two totally separate companies could come up with the concept.

As much as I love these things, they're just too fucking expensive for what they are.

It was all cool when the cutelittle Dios were cheap, 15$ and you could get 3 of them shipped for like 50$ without much hassle, but these mammoths and gorillas are all 20-25$ apiece, and then they tack on 5-8$ shipping for each one, so buying all 3 mammoths is 80 fucking dollars at amazon even with a combined shipping "discount".

80 buckaroos for three cute but ultimately cheapass chinese toys that sort of transform into a box. And yes, I'm gonna use the "ten cents worth of plastic" argument, because you fucking know it's true. They don't even have to pay licensing fees or anything, so you know these don't cost shit to make.

I feel like they're milking this newfound popularity because they got the stink of urban art toys on them and they think it justifies that kind of pricing.

I'm happy with my handful of dinos. Fuck this shit.

JOJO and MOMA are both significantly heavier than DIO, with more complex transformations and an extra container to store them away in. Even if they are making a hefty profit off the top, I don't really care because I want the line to keep going.

Out of all the other stuff I collect, most of it pretty expensive, these silly little cube animals have brought me the most enjoyment.

You're joking, right? You think licenses are the only thing toy companies need to pay for?

This is a small startup that's barely a year old, and if you weren't aware, small operations = small runs = higher cost per figure. Cutting molds alone can cost tens of thousands of dollars, and that's money that small operations need to try to recoup so they can afford to produce their next product. There's a reason why gigantic corporations like Bandai can afford to make their toys and kits relatively cheap--producing in high volume better distributes the initial cost of the mold and other involved expenditures.

Fucking educate yourself. Your ignorance is on full display, especially that boneheaded "urban art toy" comment that makes it clear you have no clue what you're talking about.

Go find Pledge Floor Polish with Future Shine. Wal-Mart should sell it. It's really liquidy stuff, so you can just drip a droplet or two directly into the balljoint then rotate it to spread it around, no disassembly is necessary. Then just let it dry. There is no danger of it freezing up joints like superglue, just set it and forget it. Do wipe up any excess if it gets everywhere though, it will make surfaces shiny when it dries (it can still be removed at that point, but it's easier to just wipe it when it's still wet).

dio's cool but i wish his legs could go fully straight. the range is there, it's just arbitrarily hindered by a bumper on the back. i also wish his legs plugged in more solidly in box form.

He's their early design. I think they're improving. Speaking of, I got my first MOMA in today. The transformation is easily the most complex and fun so far. Some really neat engineering in here. More articulation than I expected.
