It's basically tapping into their Saiyan blood while SSB taps into the god ki. I quite like it as a transformation too, but it'd more than likely be completely obsolete next to the god ki powered transformations. Who knows though, the U6 tapped into Broly, maybe they'll do something of a SSJ4 (though they don't have tails, which might not make it possible).

If you skip the abomination that is ep1-28 of Super and just watch the movies, Super is pretty good as a DB series. Power levels go up and down everywhere though. The only thing annoying about it.

Why the fuck they started with a retelling of the movies is still beyond me. It was totally unnecessary, and easily the worst animated part of Super, and like, 90% of the screen grabs for the "shit tier" animation of super come either from that SSJ3 Goku vs Beerus episode, of some of the episodes of Goku vs. Frieza.

Not saying Super didn't have plenty of questionable animation issues later, but these were easily the worst and most memorable, and pretty much made Super's animation and art quality out to be a meme.

Super had a rushed production because Toei didnt had anything to replace Kai The Final Chapters and Toriyama was motivated enough to make new DB stories.
Problem is that they needed time for the planning of the new arc so the better way was to adapt the two most recent movies.

Dragonball is not some kind of niche, unknown show, anywhere in the world. Especially in Japan of all places...who there hadn't seen BoG or RoF?

I'm sure people would be willing to forgive it way more if it had better art and animation. Also, why did some 3-hours of content need to be stretched to 28-ish episodes?

Seems like a lot of people were turned off very quickly by a "new" show that was nothing more than retold content, that was dragged out waaaaay longer than it needed to be, and with even worse art and animation than it already had been.

The vast majority. Cinema and BD/DVD are expensive in Japan. Also Super is mostly watched by young kids.

This is hardly a new issue. Dragon Ball has never cared about retaining continuity from its movies. They mostly only exist as "greatest hits" compilations to remind people of, and get them hooked onto, the tv shows.

The only exceptions to this were the Trunks and Bardock specials (rebranded as "movies" in America), and The Dead Zone (because they ran out of content to adapt halfway through Z, and later de-canonized in Kai).

I know that, but there was almost nothing about BoG or RoF that conflicted with anything that happened in Z, considering they were both tacked on at the ass-end of the series, save for EoZ, and it didn't even mess with that.

The other movies the other movies didn't fit into the timeline due to conflicting locations, or characters being there when they shouldn't be, or not there when they should be, and often wouldn't make sense if you tried to sandwich them in where they should fit in the main series.

You guys think we getting a Jiren figure? Hes one of the few characters from Super I like because he doesn't transcend multiple different transformations in the span of one or couple episodes. But really, I agree with you. The U6 Saiyans had the power, just not the knowledge of how to transform SSJ.

I can easily buy SSJ, but Caulifla getting SSJ2 like, immediately after is a bit iffy. And borderlining on SSJ3 is pretty "Ehhh...." At least it took Cabba a while to get to SSJ2.

Even with that, they just shouldn't be able to keep up with characters like Goku with with SSG and SSB and whatnot. But since powerlevels basically don't exist anymore, and everything is so skewed, it all seems so fucked, since there was a relatively clear path to how things worked before. That's largely out the window now.

She's just meant to be a prodigy, that's all there is to it. That's why she's able to get the handle of things so quickly. Between her quick transformations, and her adapting to Goku's skills vs her brawling when they fought, that's just how she is and is meant to be. The infinite potential thing is fine too I guess, and you could say the same about Goku and Vegeta as they still haven't stopped growing. Don't see the big deal. Her growth is quick, but is that so different than Frieza learning Gold in 5 months (essentially from about a cell jr in strength to being able to fight SSB), or him mastering Gold while not being able to do anything least of all assume the form? We also have Jiren who's strong to an absurd degree, with no reasoning as of yet.

Caulifla and the other two have really strong base forms, that's what people are forgetting. Imagine if base form current Goku just learned about SS, he would go through the SS levels quickly because his base form is already super strong.

ssj is just a multiplier. Your base doesnt need to be a certain lv to unlock it but they do require enough stamina and ki control to keep it on (some what contradicting but fuck you). Trunks and Goten couldnt be anywhere near Goku's lv on namek but they had the form which made them somewhat relevant to the story due to the multiplier.

The reason why Vegeta doesnt have ssj3 is because it'd be a waste of time. Goku's able to use it due to the experience with the form in the other world but still it burns you out way to much to be useful.

The new ones likely won't come with nearly as much stuff as the old one. As shitty as the old SSJ3 Goku was, I got mine at a good price and kept him for those unique effect parts.

NuFreiza likely won't come with the rock base and some of the other stuff, which is why I'm going to hang onto him too.

My thing now is just to avoid late-tax figures. That meaning, no Krillin for me unless a 2.0 comes out. Having said that, PC Cell is not yet a late-tax figure - So I would, and did, pick it up. That way you'll have thing for at least a year before another Cell comes out, for a nominal fee.

I’d highly recommend grabbing him. There probably is enough room for improvement to make a 2.0, but I don’t see it happening, not any time soon anyways. The main thing they could improve on him are his proportions, his chest is a little on the thin side. But his joints are the perfect blend of usability and astetics. His colors are really nice and he’s got phenominal shading. I really can’t recommend him enough.

Not really. Seems to depend more on the size of the figure, and what they come with rather than whether or not they were exclusives. And its kind of hard to gauge when each figure that comes out seems to cost more than the last. There might be like a $5 or $6 difference on average between an exclusive and a standard-release, unless we're talking about kinda fuck huge characters like Nappa who cost more just because of size.

Most people only wonder about exclusivity because they wonder about initial availability. Besides, this really kind of goes hand-in-hand with price, because figures that are easy to find because they were standard releases tend to hold their initial price.

So realistically, exclusive or not, it makes no difference for initial availability when released outside of Japan because they're distributed evenly.

While this maybe true in a lot of cases, the Dragonball Figuarts line is not one of those.

The prices they charge are the Bluefin MSRP prices. They're the same prices you're going to be charged if you buy off Amazon, or in store like TRU or Barnes and Noble, etc.

Most of the time, it seems to me like BBTS gouges prices on things like Marvel and DC figures, and they also charge a "premium" for more sought-after figures out of a wave (like for Marvel Legends).

Amazon had Black for cheaper by a few bucks like a week or two ago. But yeah, mainly amazon is consistent with BBTS. Amazon also had a track record of ruining the boxes for my figuarts.
