Classics Hot Rod was kinda chunky, Battles in Space Hot Rod was chunky and had ugly colors, Animated Rodimus had that massive chest and spindly legs (also, on my mold one of his leg-flaps is the wrong part, so it doesn't sit flush, and the shoulders pop out super-easy), both Masterpieces have issues (the first was overly-complicated, the second sacrificed a lot just to have a Matrix gimmick), and TR Hot Rod has the long arms.
I mean, none of that make them anything resembling bad toys, but it kinda hurts when every Hot Rod out there has that one caveat, like some freaking Monkey's Paw.
Me, though? I love TR Hot Rod. I wish he were a Targetmaster and not a Headmaster (but there are fixes for that), and a lot of the engineering on him is smart (I love that his kneepads become his alt-mode thrusters).
In other news, I picked up a Kup to go with my Hot Rod. Really wish I could get an Arcee so I could complete the trio.
