Happened a lot in the US during the civil war, since there was cities where the men were off fighting, while completely different soldiers would be stationed there.
>dying of STDsbtw If I'm remembering the place right, Memphis legalized prostitution and gave free health care to sex workers during the war. The idea was they had to have a clean bill of health to be licensed, and keeping them free of STDs was easier than stopping soldiers from fucking.
