>>6642765They still can't do shit, something like this happened to essentially me, just glad the person they suspected did things the right way rather than escalate the issue into the courts.
She was this dodgy woman, seemed like a druggy with a bogan accent (this is Australia btw so think redneck in our accent), people always thought she was shop lifting but I had never seen her do anything, every time she would shop she would ALWAYS argue with the veteran staff who were usually right, I handled her once and even had a lengthy discussion, turns out that she was once a "career criminal" and people never got off her back over it, but from what I gathered she was forced into a bag check where one of the staff actually forced open her bag (she held it out but we're not obliged to put our hands in), she called up head office to make the staff stop, which they did, still held a grudge.
She only seems to come around now when I'm manning self serve, I help her out, yet always watchful, if she did stole its not when her kid wasn't around because she was always good and never brings bags to check now adays, if she really wanted to she could have went up to the courts.
Wanna be on good terms with shop staff, just act as you normally do and offer checks as you exit/enter if you brought something, if you act stupid and pocket a figure (intention to pay irrelevant) then you deserve any misjudgement presented, and don't dart around scanning the place, caught a would be shoplifter like that once.
If she wasn't so cute I would have done more than "ok just don't do it again, you won't get in trouble since you surrendered before you did anything have a nice day"
