>>6670304Well they made strange choices like Mega Mawile, and Machamp was quite odd and irrelevant to the current anime or games (other than as a Ride Pokemon but I doubt that was intended). And I feel like as the Pokemon line went on the articulation choices got a lot smaller, and if nothing else that consistency and improvement would do well for the Nintendo line. Not to mention the scale format they have for Pokemon is ideal for Nintendo, who would have the main characters be the larger articulated figures, the smaller ones like enemies being minimally articulated figures, and even some static figures in two packs. Then we have the larger characters who would fit in the size currently occupied by Solgaleo and Lunala. I think they'd do better overall.
Jakks' figures are disappointing to me (some good ones here and there like Bowser Jr is pretty good) but look at all the Links, there have just been no improvement up until the newest one from this year, compared to say the pretty terrible Mega Blaziken (and though I like Mega Lucario a fair bit, his arm articulation could have been improved, as they did with Mewtwo and Greninja) compared to Snorlax or Greninja, which are far superior.
Even Playmates Toys is making notable improvements to their figures for their various lines, I just feel like Jakks is stagnant and aren't going to improve, and they're not capitalizing on Nintendo's huge momentum with the Switch.
