I'm torn on Carnage. Revoltechs aren't bad, but god damn do they look funky from certain angles/if things aren't properly aligned. They can pull off ridiculous poses no doubt, and I can't knock the sculpts, but the look of the joints isn't worth it to me. It's all a matter of preference though, Figma, Figuarts and obviously ML have had their share of horror shows. But that Figma Deadpool does look nice as fuck.
I'd love to see a company like 1000toys tackle Marvel at some point just because of my love for the Synthetic Human, but it'd likely be more of the same.

For fuck's sake Hasbro. Anyone else have this issue? Seems easy enough to just hit with some superglue, but I don't know how well that'll hold if I want to swap heads in the future.

Keep in mind it's pretty easy for the figmapool to look "funky". His neck is actually worse than revos because it's just as long, has a gap at the bottom, and has none of the articulation range.

I'd like to say no. Besides that first troll reply, the op image and a couple of comments there has mostly just been general discussion without shitting on Legends.

But if some Legend collectors get triggered enough and want to do a general for their one specific line then they are welcome to but it's a shame.

I post in the RD generals a lot and the fact people buy the more expensive metal figures while I stick with my cheaper plastic ones doesn't make me spurge out. Odd thing for people to do that over more expensive toys.

What are some of the recommended must have Legends for bad guy Mutants. I have Revo Magneto coming in mail next week and excited for him

I have Select Juggernaut.

The rest of Legends kind of meh though. Mystique still uses the 2012ish Legends female mold with that circular ball hinge over the thighs. Toad is still stuck in Toybiz series 1 and Emma Frost costs $100 for a figure that looks like backpage hooker on crack. Also it doesn't need to be only limited to pic related, any bad guy mutants who are associated with Magneto team would do.

Reminder that figma tend to scale on the small side, so figma Deadpool will inevitably scale smaller than the average (modern) Hasbro ML and the juiced up Revoltech figures. Reminder that figma Deadpool was heavily advertised alongside the Deadpool movie craze complete with poses inspired from the film, so the figma's build/physique looks to lean closer to the Ryan Reynolds version (even the shape of the head).

Anyway, a lot of 2.0 figma has an extra balljoint inside their heads that allow them to sit more naturally on the necks (Yuuki Makoto, Zero Suit Samus and even Kiryu come to mind). I wonder if it's a case of newbies not knowing how to pose their first figma with DP or if his head really sits that high on his neck. It's definitely worth noting that the promos of DP show that his head sits low enough that it should be touching the metal studs on his neck yet most in-hand photos are sitting way above the metal studs.

The difference is Legends releases different characters. Yes they release a fucking retarded amount of Spider Guys, but that's offset by them releasing even more not Spider-Mans. Even if you add the Wolverines and Spider-Men together, you still get way more characters. The Japanese companies release more Spiderdudes than they release other characters though.

That's not true at all though

There's like maybe six Spider-Men total from the various big import companies. Which is more than other characters, sure. Here are my new X-Men set. Cable, Deadpool, and Brown Suit Wolverine are still in a box somewhere and Revo Wolvie was easier to find. I'm excited for Magneto, should hopefully get him next week. I still think I'm gonna swap out Cyke for Jim Lee Cyke but having the options are nice. Love Dark Phoenix's alternate heads.

Looking into getting into marvel figures, should I go for the 3.75 in or 6 in scale?

3.75 in are so much cheaper and there's more obscure characters available too, but the paint quality looks kinda bad on them I think

6 in are more expensive and I don't like the box abs joint or the pins in the elbows that most figures have, but they have better paint quality I think and scale better with figure from other series like DC and Star Wars

any advice?

It's nice that we've basically gotten enough for a barebones x-team within the last year and a half. I'd still prefer a cartoon jean, but the toybiz one is both expensive as hell and doesn't really hold up. I'm also not really pleased with having to get a single carded version and a two pack to frankenstein a jean I'd use as a placeholder at best, the juggs wave one was a shame.

Revoltech is already making comic based figures, including releases we wouldn't typical expect from Japan and Medicom have just announced a Gwenpool. Japanese releases have been based entirely on the MCU until now, and we're finally starting to see them branch out into more diverse characters.

They'll obviously never compete with ML in terms of variety, but at least the ones we do get are guaranteed to blow them out the water.

Also the moveable eye gimmick is SUCH a fucking pain in the ass. It takes so long to get them into a position that looks natural, that you will never want to move them again.

Is it stiff/solid enough for him to use it as a third leg? Cuase I'm not gonna lie, having to use the stand wouldn't be that bad if the new ones weren't so fragile. I've snapped the tips of three of em so far since they introduced them with ultron, and mags is probably on the heavier end.

The eyes, yeah, they can be a pain, but I think I prefer having the option overall.

I generally like Marvel Legends and don't buy the import stuff because I don't think the quality scales anywhere near as fast as the price. I do collect SHF/Figma/etc, just not where I think the domestic is good enough like with ML.

What surprises me, honestly, is people putting up with MAFEX's skyrocketing prices. The last round of them are $60 plus shipping on AE and $90+ at BBTS! I had trouble selling imports when prices were in the low 30s. Toy collectors in this state are so fucking tightfisted...they won't touch $15 TFs and $15 ML for crying out loud.

What makes the 2nd DKR Catwoman so good that it's worth $75 on average or, alternatively, what makes the 1st so bad that it continues to sit at $25?

Give it to me straight, /toy/, do I live in a poorfag state?

I got homecoming spider-man for 6K, I don't think that's too bad, especially considering how they turned their abysmal quality around. All the major import lines are creeping up too, it's not like mafex is doing anything particularly egregious.

MAFEX doubled prices over a year and a half. That's much faster than SHF. The scouter Vegetas are 5 years and 30% apart. Figmas are up a bit more but not the warp speed of the starship Medicom.

I'm not really a fan of the cloth or vinyl clothes. I have their cap, and I've heard their newer stuff is much better, but I didn't dig it at all. I'm getting their deathstroke (whenever the fuck it's actually out), but mainly because the cloth being black helps it out a lot, and there really aren't any other options for him.

I love both the imports as well as legends, but I can assure you some figures (Not all) do get gummy joints/plastic. It's pretty randomly spready out but I believe the whole gotg 2014 wave had it, iceman was literally GumMan. I'm not too sure on the rest since I put most of them into a storage drawer while moving stuff around.

I think the Star Wars stuff actually worked the look really well and the new ones still do. I don't get the Marvel ones, though Deadpool is somewhat a better fit than the last ones. The only one I'm actually looking forward to in the Marvel lineup is the Daredevil they teased last time.

Not sure if anyone has ever tried this but given his size in the movie, would it be possible to fake it with the Revoltech Ultron? As long as he doesn't tower over your Hulk then it should be fine since they're close in height in the movies with Hulk coming out only slightly taller.

I meant that since the Revo Ultron was meant to go with the Iron Man mini, he's technically in scale with the 3.75" figures. I'm aware that he's around 6", but he's not 1/12 scale.

Exactly. He is more suitable for the other 6 inch movies figures like the Figuarts. Anything under a figuart in height isn't going to work at all.

Wait what? Barring a few faint mistakes (like her breasts being completely green instead of black with green lining) I thought Hela is actually really close to how she looked. If you're talking about the "masked" head having the white eyes/green makeup being off, it's more like they based the figure on how she looked in the Valkyrie scene. Beyond that, other times you even see her crown coming down on the top portion of her face so the figure isn't really that far off.

Wait what? Barring a few mistakes negligible mistakes with the paint, I thought Hela is actually really close to how she looked in the movie (which is surprising even for ML). Got a BBTS delivery today. It was 12 in Thor. Only thing is I didn't order him. I'm waiting for him to go sub $20. Turns out it's my Christmas present from my roommate. Awesome because I've got almost all the other 12 in figs for sub $20. I even snagged Deadpool from GameStop for $18. Although who knows when he ships. GS is behind apparently. Now all I need is to find Spidey for $15 and Logan. I may actually pay full price for Logan cuz he looks awesome. I'll display what I have so far when Hulk comes in on Monday.

I'm mostly satisfied to happy with hasbro's output for legends, but they're 100% dropping the ball on all the women they make. Even the standouts like silk or kitty pryde feel pretty clunky because of the whole elbow thing. It's nice to see somebody do a female character justice, articulation wise.

The neck could have just been glued shoddily. I suggest heating up the head/neck so you can loosen the neck joint, then after you pry it off, just glued the neck portion back into the body. Unless you end up using some really damn strong glue, I can imagine the risk of it coming off if you so much as swap the head sculpts. It's best to heat the head sculpts so they're a little easier to pop on and on.

A shame that it happened though, because otherwise the figure is pretty solid.

Just got my $35 17in Hulk. Holy fucking shit this thing is HUGE! And heavy too. I thought my Select Hulk was big. I'll need to dig him out for a comparison. Still haven't unpacked figures from my move.

Here's a quick size comparison with a random ML I dug out, Figma MP3 Samus, Revo Wolvie, the SoC Mrgazord, and a couple other of the 12in figures.

Yeah, I did actually manage to pull the head off just by holding the neck with my fingers. I haven't bothered with it yet, but it seems like it'll be easy to glue back on. As you mentioned, my only real concern is whether the glue will hold if I want to swap heads in the future. I'm somewhat tempted just to scrape the socket of the heads to try and make them fit a little more loosely.
