Hey /toy/ I'm not much of a toy guy myself (got a couple figures of stuff I like but they're in a box somewhere) but I figured I'd get my brother some /toy/-related stuff for Christmas.

He's into Monster Hunter and isn't adverse collectible toys, having some Pacific Rim stuff along with a hobby of creating replicas so I figure he'd be into getting some "Capcom Figure Builder - Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus" figures.
The idea sparked when I figured that you can get a wave of six pretty cheap online.

Now I asked him and he mentioned that his favorite Monsters are Rathalos and Gore Magala.
Gore Magala seems to only be available in the older waves and in a stone version but there are lots of Rathalos versions.

I'm currently looking at Vol.4 and Anger Ver. Kai from the aforementioned series.
The Anger Kai wave seems great since it has Deviljho, Barioth along with both Rathalos and Rathian. But they are golden and silver and I'm unsure if the paintjob is any good since it looks pretty cheap compared to the rest of the figures.
Ver.4 also has Rathalos and Rathian both with their more traditional colors and the rest of the wave seems like a decent selection, even is Nargacuga is a pretty lame choice. But it seems a bit more tame in comparison to the more "deluxe" Anger Kai.

Anyone familiar with the figures or just these kinds of figures in general that can recommend one over the other? Please?
