Sometime later this month we'll be clearing out my grandma's old stuff and I'll be able to get all the Bionicle sets I had there again, also some closure for my mom

I have many such stories, but some ended on a happy note cause after a lot of missed opporunities, I eventually got many of the sets.
But one that hurts is the Exo-Toa. Only saw it once in a store, at a time when my family couldn't afford any toys. Never saw it again, even online I couldn't find a sealed one for a good price.
Then there's Mazeka. There was an auction for it for relatively cheap, but I didn't place a bid. The next day I was signing up for college stuff, and it went on for so long that I missed the auction. I found the guy who won it on some forum, and he said he was glad no one else bid on the set because he too was preoccupied that day. Meaning that if I had bid on it the day prior, I would have won. Oh, and I ended up not attending that university course after all, so the whole thing was a waste.

the very concept of discord is an affront to the values held by most people who use this website. The channels can exist in perpetuity, there's no anonymity, it more often than not ends up being an echo chamber, and whether you like it or not it does, in fact, siphon potential discussion from the thread. There is a legitimate reason it is called a thread killer. If it was used only as an external utility and not a separate mode of communication, we wouldn't be feeling the effects of it, and I think you would see far less people complaining about it. You can bitch and moan about others bitching and moaning if you want, but they are absolutely within the right to want it gone.

Well the Discord is over a year old now and /biog/ still exists. It's nice to apply a sweeping statement to every Discord in existence but last I checked, 90% of the conversation is just shitpost, small talk, Kamen Rider and WWE for whatever reason. All things not appropriate for the thread.

I'd say if any attention to the thread has been snuffed, the blame is more worthy on the constant meta crying and lack of any new Bionicle content.

The discord was made a bit after G2 died so it's convenient to blame it rather the death Bionicle when you've experienced what I can only assume are some cancerous Discords and it's fair to be a little cynical but the way I see it, if it's done any harm it's at least help cement some people in the community by giving them a means to meet people more in depth.

This is one really a problem if we keep focusing on it.

J&G for 16 Euro is a good deal but nothing mind blowing, since the original set was 25 Euro in yuropoorland as I recall. Jetrax is less than half of its original price, so I'd give priority to that.
That said I never cared for Jetrax but I love Jaller & Gukko. But if you plan to get both, I'd go for Jetrax first.

After having scored a great deal on Brutaka and Axonn, I finally did it. Kardas was absolutely worth every penny to make, and I'm genuinely surprised at how few pieces are left over.

The first graphic novel indicated that there were many fallen cities. In my mind the island was never all jungle, the semented look was always there. The cataclym did however cause the many cities to collapse and over the years the islanders were slowly pushed to the outer fringes of their respective regions due to the Skull Spiders. Except Onu-Koto. They were forced into the mountains.

So technically Kardas is still larger, but only in terms of area. The wings, legs, tail, even how the head hunches forward make the entire build look far larger and more imposing compared to Makuta's compact, sturdy build.
Otherwise they're pretty close by height. If you raised Kardas' head or counted the wings at their highest, he's far taller.

Hey now, the trilogy has some good music, even if it's a little more traditional. And that's probably never going to happen anyway. A lot of the music in MNOG is made up of little snippets that play at specific points, kinda like a tracker. So even on the chance that the original uncompressed arrangements are just hanging out on a hard drive somewhere, they are probably spread out across several files and would need to be compiled. While Nathan Furst has has been very gracious with Bionicle fans, Justin seems like he just doesn't care enough to bother with stringing them together in Kontakt and is probably tired of hearing about that one soundtrack he did 15 years ago. I think I remember him expressing a some level of contempt over the issue too at some point in the past, but I'm not about to go digging for a tweet or forum post that may or may not exist. Either way, you're probably better off waiting for a ZREO-like fan project than for the real deal.

Speaking of, if anyone has the inclination to do "BREO" or at least remake MNOG's soundtrack as faithfully as possible, pic related might be a good jumping off point, as many of the tracks use samples from this library.

That way it fits with the rest of the movie. Super basic characters and zero tension in any of the conflict. When Kiina and Berix are captured and caged, they're barely concerned about their situation. Instead they squabble like siblings over who should stay out of whose room.

A lot of people here discussed about buying this or that Master first because he was their favourite character or first set from back then.

Exactly. Nostalgia. The first wave had the Toa fighting krana/kraata and a technicbuild rahi as they searched for masks. That sold great. Then you got the skeleton warriors that pandered in no way to G1 and sold poorly.

All of SW constraction doesn't sell. Constraction is a niche among legofags, and SWfags have a large variety of nicer figures to choose from. They have for years.

That's because Lego is dumb. If I remember correctly, Grievous sold like hot cakes and K-2SO wasn't bad either. They focus too much on human characters. If they instead went for the droids and did them in the same fashion they did Grievous, it wouldn't just be a dust collector on the shelves.

Help me /biog/ I've never been so conflicted. The asking price is already slightly offputting (44 pounds, but used in box), but shipping that to Australia will cost a lot more. Yeah I too would rather get two new parts on a 30 dollar set that we've seen 20 times over now. Totally not getting sick of the same overpriced grey and black human builds clogging up store shelves. I honestly would rather a system based Bionicle theme like what ttv are doing at this point. Fuck CCBS Star Wars. Waste of space and resources.

you could also just bricklink the parts or order them from lego directly. no need to buy the entire set. getting a few neat parts every year is better than not getting anything at all imo
