God, that Gyro looks like shit. The various colors themselves aren't neccesarily bad, but the color coordination is trash.

Honestly, I'm not sure what color scheme exists that would've looked worse than the one Gyro 2nd is getting. I think that the very worst you could reasonably do would've looked at least as bad as what we're getting. The Easter green belt, and pink shoe buckles make sure of that. The fact that they went with white hair instead of blonde just adds to the irritation.

This is something I'm currently working on.
The lights rotate so that's why it looks kind of wonky
It's pretty "anime" inspired when the color pallets suddenly changed or something resembling an opening.
I'm want to center the lights so the lights go evenly through out the shelf, but the general idea is something like that

We should honestly but someone here will always inevitably make another thread to say the same things or when Medicos drops info like Gyro 2nd. All we have are the SAS list posts and WF releases, SAS BIG is this month but it's only Star Platinum, barely anyone cares about RWBY beyond someone posting the review to laugh at the faces, Aijin is just a reissue but not many here seem to collect that.

Then we all wait until February WF for Johnny and Valentine and gauge the quality when shots come around.

If I can manage, then one from the WF and regular with the inevitable white hair versions. I’m more focused on getting Johnny though and I hope that AmiAmi gets a preorder release for WF Valentine and Johnny. First one is more accurate to the manga, so I've heard, and was the first SAS in the line

1.5 is the same one but with a better face sculpt and a word plate.

Second is the blue one and the more recognizable one, but it does not come with a word plate.

Third is the green one that comes with the green punching effect and that's it.

The white one is Part 4.

Nah man, the first one just has a fucked up face sculpt. 1.5 fixes that and, IIRC, a certain release of 2nd comes with heads for the 1.5 heads for 1.

Ended up getting both refunded. Bought CD from a better seller for a good price. Had to bite the bullet and re-buy from the guy who fucked me over on the WF KQ because I didn't set up a paypal until the day after I bought it. I already have KC 1st posed with Diavolo, but I'm looking to get a 2nd one to pose fighting GER at the top of my part 5 display.

The purple on KQ Blue is really nice and shiny, i personally recieved a small defect on blue but you cant really notice it.

Honestly at the end of the day it's a matter of preference, if you like WF get it, it's quite different from KC 1st.

The punch effects? You need to grab Dio Black ver. but beyond his shoddy qc issues, the fists effects hold up wonderfully provided you use the right arms in case the SAS wrist pegs aren't big enough. The World and I'm sure Part 3 Star Platinum can handle it as they are. If you need to know the soundplate, that's from The World 2nd so it's sort of like a accessory companion deal with Black Dio and The World 2nd.

It's essentially on life support but I can't tell how much of it was self-inflicted and how much was just economy related shit fucking them over. For a while it seemed like figures were flying off the shelf and they couldn't keep them in stock. At a certain point factory prices started going up and they had less bargaining power than other big brands like Bandai/GSC/Kaiyodo. So re-releases were seeing huge ass price hikes and new releases were even worse. For a solid year or two SAS were $10-20+ more than any other line which did NOT help.

Still...there is some highly sought after alternate color releases with EXCLUSIVE parts people want. There is WF releases they could make into normal retail releases. They could even just add new heads or accessories to old stuff since there are parts people wanted but didn't get. Or maybe just maybe re-release the stuff that costs a fortune now. I mean that's essentially what every other company is doing right now. figma used to almost never get re-releases and now they are getting a ton of them.

I have a feeling their attempt to branch outside JoJo fucked them;
-Tokyo Ghoul figures were hated by most, seemed to have more QC issues and were expensive. They flopped hard.
-Parasyte was "ok" but had some strange articulation limitations it didn't need to have. Seemed to sell ok.
-Ajin is probably the best release in terms of quality, accessories and articulation. Seemed to sell ok.
-Drifters are flopping and can't get into poses you'd expect those characters to. Probably won't get third guy.
-RWBY looks really mediocre from promo shots but MAYBE it'll sell good.

Small companies can't afford flops. Should have stuck with JoJo.

EMS if you want speed (East Coast US comes around 3-4 days) but I think the cost will be 2.5k or so for Joseph. RSAL will take longer (using East Coast US again but it took around 2 weeks roughly to arrive stateside) but it is the cheaper option with tracking included but the exact cost escapes me. I guess with it being this close to the holidays, expect longer wait times. I can't say much on customs, I only had one package throughout my entire collection get hit but it ended up being processed quickly.

My WF Crazy Diamond and my Rohan 2.ver black from Sukiyaki Japan on Amazon arrived earlier than expected.

Collection is now at 22 figures with Baldy's WF Killer Queen on the way. I might go after WF GER, Josuke or Jonathan next. Not too sure though.

Tell me how Avdol has the best found FX plates. This dude comes with 2, neither fit for him, and they're arguably the most iconic ones. He has both the ORAORAORA chant and the gogogogogogogogo spoopy sounds. Otherwise he has no other accessories other than hands, (no tear-off arms?) but idk what else he would come with anyway.

Which one's? Some places may charge more than others but generally aftermarket is your best bet. Proxy sites may net you a deal if you look and wait long enough for a solid listing starting at a decent price or has a good Buy It Now choice.

Yahoo Auction Japan is my main go-to. Used has saved me quite a bit on time and at this point, used is your easiest approach on collecting these. If you're worried on damage then don't, sellers will generally note flaws if possible and will discount it if even the box has like a dent or two. I remember some time back that an anon got the all the Pillarmen for really cheap but they had a tobacco scent all over. Managable fix if I remember right.

Plus a good thing about Yahoo Auction is sellers usually put up shots of the figure and certain points on them can be put up or requested. And another handy thing is Buyee will act as your middleman for YAJ when you first enter so shopping is easy. Make an account and make your bids with a warehouse feature on top if you want to try to bundle items for a bigger haul.

The only drawback is the overall fee's that will come with ordering with proxies so domestic shipping for multiple items from various sellers can build up.

As for your desired SAS, Okuyasu will probably hit your wallet the most, Diavolo and KC1st should be easier at 4k or 5k as a starting price.

Mandarake has an Okuyasu 1st up for 11k. You may be able to find him cheaper but it’ll probably take some hunting. He seems to be Lurk Mandarake, Amiami, and Jungle for used SAS. Stalk YAJ too (I use Zenmarket as proxy. Dunno if there are superior alternatives but I’ve had good experience with them anyways). And don’t be afraid to post what you’re looking for in the BST thread.

Last time I checked, Amiami still had Diavolo new, though that may have changed since then.

Diavolo and king crimson can be easily found on mandarake, no need to be worried about damage, the figures are always perfect unless stated. You can also find Diavolo new on Amiami, but KC is long gone. Okuyasu is expensive as fuck tho, and mandarake is yet again your best shot

That's more of an infamous qc issue the King Crimson's have like Jolyne's poorly glued elbow pieces. You have to hope the site has in-hand shots of that particular figure to make sure you get one with good eyes, otherwise it's by chance. I even recall The World 1st being hit with that. Damage is more along with if the the previous owner scuffed the paint, snapped a joint, or even smoke cigarettes around it but thankfully all my Mandarake orders have little to no issue beyond the boxes being bent a little.

Beyond overpriced. KC 1st pops up regularly on Mandarake for 3k and occasionaly on Amiami for similar prices. Solaris Japan had him used for $50 last I checked and YAJ has him up for auction quite a bit. In my experience, Playmoya is typically one of if not THE most expensive place to buy import shit.

Mandarake or Yahoo Auction Japan for Medicos base packs that come in plastic bags if you want something on-brand. They even have 3 holes per side for added functionality for displays. If you want out of brand, then Tamashii Act 4 bases are my go-to due to coming with 3 bases and various arms.

I know. I really want one of these but the scale is offputting and the price even more so. I dunno why they didn’t just release an updated sculpt in 1/12 scale. In general, the SC line would benefit from updated sculpts, even if it were just for Jotaro and DIO.

You could use a hairdryer and the moment the plastic soften's a bit, you can start making adjustments to loosen it up. If that's not available, I usually heat my water up a bit more and try to see if that helps get whatever is locking that joint or area up.

This happened to my GE. The torso wouldn't budge after I decided to change its pose. I had to really use force I wasn't comfortable using but it came loose. Kiss is pretty cheap though but I'd just go for it

I think right now, best in my collection i own, Buccellati looks really great, crisp colors, great articulation and spitting image of him in the manga. Yellow Dio just looks amazing (despite being a bit smaller than most). and i think crazy diamond looks striking, despite some sub-par articulation, also the hand is just great.
