The fact that Nitro Zeus was the thuggiest Decepticon there and only had the gold chain and prisoner celeb ego and was still better-designed and more pleasing than Autobots Skids and Mudflap is amusing.

Barricade even had some thuggish motifs like his knuckles and silver Decepticon chain but he still looked great as it mixed well with his designs.

Honestly I liked the thug/punk Decepticon criminals aspect, even to the point where they were actual inmates. The movieverse has been at a loss as to what to do with the Decepticons beyond making them monsters, so it was nice to see sort of a cohesive motif.

I just grab the shoulder, try to line it properly so the tab is as close as possible to the slot and push it against the body so it clicks into place. I still have to apply more force that I would like when pushing even when trying to line everything, but it works.

So, a couple of threads ago I commented about a guy near me who has selling a bunch of vintage TFs without really knowing their names or average market prices and I thought it would have been possible to get the Dia Battles, Diaclone Blitzwing and Fangry in pic related for 20 euros / 23 USD, which would have been a pretty good price. Turns out, however, he actually wants 50 euros / 59 USD for those three instead.

Is this still a good deal, anons? Should I get them anyways or is it wiser to just back down?

Picked up my first Transformer ever today.
As a Gunpla fan, I've always been interested in the figures, and I'm really impressed so far.
The transformation is fun and the design is neat af.
The only issues I have are with some of the joints being crazy loose, but everything else is great.

Here's a question: Are there any other decent Transformers with the covered-mouth design that are cheap/in scale with this one?

I think triggerhappy would be a good fit
The legends version has better colors than the tr and comes with a little dude that turns into a gun, but costs about twice as much as the tr version
Either way it's a great figure

That hardhead was also my first foray into TF's since elementary school. Damn good entrypoint for people who just like cool robots. As for available/cheaper figures, TR brainstorm is also a good fit and has great pose-ability.TR chromedome is slightly less good but still worthwhile. not sure if anything from combiner wars/power of the primes will be as worthwhile since they're smaller and mainly meant to be combiner limbs.

The problem I have with universe updates is they are often not very faithful.

Just look at the new Primal. He turns into a weird plank, the OpOp mode probably lacks all of the actual alt modes, the colors, I guarantee, will be all over the place because OpOp is Orange and Blue and Primal is Black.

Already confirmed with pictures on the hascon panel to have "jet" beast and robot modde, we dn't know about "tank thing" yet.

I think it flips backwards, meaning the underside of the cockpit will face out. That side might be black.

I finally got this tremendously overpriced set of faces. Pretty neat to have, but it's kind of weird they didn't give Highbrow a replacement headmaster. I suppose they figured their version was pretty much the same as the hasbro version... but it's really not.

Grimlock is neat too, and Brawn is fun with Brawn.

I have a few issues with the first wave of Prime Master Pretenders:
- the pegs on Cloudburst and Metal Hawk are too thick for other figures to hold.
- I'm sort of worried of breaking the tiny pegs that hold the Prime Master weapons on the backpack if I pull them out on and off
- they made the shells to fit specifically the Prime Master in mind and not universally
- the little eye holes/face holes on the shells look kinda stupid

I don't play with him much because he's old news, but whenever I do take him off the shelf to fiddle around, he never ceases to amaze me with how awesome he still looks. I love the slight stylization he has, it's a shame the MP line did away with it. He's clearly G1 Optimus Prime, but he's still unmistakably "MP-10" if you know what I mean. With the direction they're taking MP lately they honestly should have just rebooted the line entirely. The way that the Titan masters constructed is it should be incredibly difficult for the head to detach, I would say someone might not have properly assembled the Headmaster unit, but I have no idea where this would occur in the manufacturing process.

Plastic and paint quality is better on Takara. I personally think the color distribution is better on every figure except maybe Chromedome, but his colors are so much deeper and richer he looks just as good. Headmasters are actually painted so they feel like real little figures, and the color matched titan master vehicles are really fun

Downside is that they're like 30 to 40 bucks each, but if you got the cash to burn, I think they're worth it. I sold off my Hasbro versions, except for Chromedome after getting Takara's.

I thought this until I actually got the Takara version in hand to compare. The plastic colors on Takara are so much richer and showcase sculpted detail better. The tan parts look way better than Hasbro's signature milky gray, especially the way they're used to break up the arms. I also prefer the Autobot badge being front and center instead of tiny and wedged on the shoulders. The silver paint on the edge of the treads adds a lot in alt. Mode, too. I do prefer Hasbro's headsculpt, which is why I bought the EX set, but the Takara one is still nice. The paint apps on the face are better and don't let the plastic bleed through like on the Hasbro version.

Must depend on lighting. My desk is right by my window, and one day I had them both in direct sunlight, and the slightly deeper green on Takara looked so much richer, as well as the tan. It seemed to reflect the light and show off the lines of the sculpt better. I'm not saying Hasbro's is bad, I liked it quite a lot, it was the first TR figure I actually saw on the shelves and the colors were what made me pick it up, but I have to give the edge to Takara's.

Same ultimately went for Chromedome. While he has more painted detail and appears less bland, especially in car mode, the shades of tan and brown on the Hasbro version don't pop as much as Takara's. They look like they were molded out of fudge or soap or something, I dunno how to describe it.
