>>6677602The problem is that it's not acknowledged until the hacks that wrote the scripts needed to do something to save Leia. In the OT she could sense Luke through the force but here she can't do that and needs to get some shitty map that gets activated by walking plot black holes walking in its vicinity.
If she is suddenly strong with the force after missing Luke's location, missing her son to the dark side, not using her subtle connection with it to help the rebellion, etc. why should we take that seriously? Because it's new?
It only looks stupid because it was shot with zero grace despite it being a miracle of the force, but what made it egregious was that it's unearned.
She either is strong in the force but abandoned all those people, or she is just pulling the feat out of Rian Johnson's ass because they need to drag Fisher's corpse into Episode IX's set.
Honestly, I don't even care about these movies. I only want them to fail so we can be free of them stealing shelf space from better toylines and the /tv/ memes are great; but I'm kind of salty about them now because I think sacrificing something that had taken its place as a heroic myth in many people's hearts for profit and politics is just evil and seeing what it did to Mark Hamill was disgusting.
