Vinyl dye is the best. It dyes the plastic, so scratches won't reveal the original color unless they are deep gouges. Otherwise, standard painting is like any other paint job: clean and sand, prime, paint, clear top coat. There's a million tutorials on the youtube.
Chinese accessories are okay. If you're paying $2 a mag, and $5 for a hundred darts, it's entirely worth the trial run IMHO.
