What was the point of the Battlesaurs? Did they actually hope to make a full line of these guys but kids werent interested enough, or were they made just to teach us the same lesson from the movies?

I have to admit as impressive as the animation is in the Trigger opening I don't feel like it conveys the style of the time period nearly as well as the fake commercial I just posted.
