There's no incentive for them to do so. She's not meant to be displayed without the transforming parts. This isn't a product feature, it's whatever degenerate otaku Bandai has running their waifu figures blog showing that he could remove the kibble off her back. He also mentions multiple times that this is just a prototype sample and may not reflect the production version, so who knows maybe the peg will be glued to her back for extra stability in the final release and that's why they never mentioned it on the product page.

tentomon might be like number six, seeing how we have the released wargreymon, metalgarurumon next month, diaboromon in march, angewomon in may, and alphamon is probably after angewomon, which if it follows the precedent set by the others, would be out in july.

So assuming that tentomon is out as the 6th entry, and they follow the usual one-figure-every-two-months, then he would be dropping september 2018.

I pointed it out last thread that the connection point for the wings was one single peg. I also mentioned that all one had to do was make up new wings and add in a bit of the ribbon that goes over her head.

And considering how many other figures and even gunpla model kits have angel wings one could use, the wings should be pretty easy to handle. Heck I recall ages ago seeing someone in shinki post some custom articulated wings he made using a Pegasus from SafariLTD.

Seems to me that it's the other way around, people here should understand already that the Digimon figuarts line is fucking dead.

Bandai never really gave a shit to make it work and most releases were subpar, on the other hand they are showing great dedication to the Digivolving Spirits line. The guys in charge just like this concept way better, and there's nothing you can do to change that at this point. There's a shitton of other franchises and figures to enjoy, just move on and stop complaining about what it could have been, it's just a waste of time.

Wish they'd go further than Tamers. They rerelease the same 5 or so Digimon all the time. Omega, Wargrey, MetalGaru, Alpha and Duke. At least revive the mini figures that were sold in the US back in the day. They advertised figures that never got released.

This new line is a solid 8/10 and is only held back by budget and possibly ease of transformation. I can't even imagine how incredible of a figure 3rd party transformer companies could come out with...

It's kind of fun to have a gimmicky collectors line like this personally. And Bandai is going all in. Alphamon, Gallantmon, and Tentomon prototypes have been shown off and the tease at Biyomon and Patamon showed that they were pretty far along in the design process. I'm really interested in how Gomamon is going to turn out the most.

Tamers was the last successful classic season for Japan. Frontier and Savers both had cancelled toylines. Though the cancelled Savers toys got SEA releases. The fact that none of these have been labeled as exclusive is showing that not only did the Japanese want this type of line, but so did the other Asian regions.

Because it would look weird if everyone is champion->ultimate but only the first two being rookie->mega? Not canon-wise but display-wise. This way you can have a full team of all rookies versus two rookies and 6 champions (of the same size too).

They're pretty easy to ignore on most of the line though. Metalgarurumon is pretty much perfect, Diaboromon, and Alphamon are also pretty top-notch with their using their kibble. Magnaangemon, Tentomon, Dukemon, and Garudamon also look to be using it pretty well judging from the little we've seen of them. The only real mess is Angewomon, and Wargreymon is kibbly but hardly a mess.

I'm sorry if they're not for you but I'm enjoying this line so far. It's refreshing and rather nostaglic for me. I love that they're doing new molds and characters too instead of retreading old figures.

but Champion>Ultimate still works both-wise. since the evolutions are just adding parts or nearly matching parts of the previous form, it's a lot easier for kibble to be an actual part of both modes.

I actually think that rookie -> Ultimate works a lot better in terms of kibble. The rookies have giant heads so most of the Ultimate form parts can be hidden inside, allowing for a clean rookie form and a clean - if only from the front - ultimate form.

Actually Magnangemon seems to be a near 1:1 of the old Angemon figure but with small piece of Patamon's butt hanging off the back to give the wings a more natural curvature. I really hope he includes his armblade.

And on that subject I hope Zudomon actually does includes his hammer. He's going to be a real interesting one. Everyone else is a comparatively simple.

Are you seriously implying there's even a minimal chance of them not including it? Zudomon always carries the hammer, is part of his normal design. It's not like Angewomon's bow that only appears when she needs to shoot the Holy Arrow. They even included it in the prototype drawings, there's no need to "hope" for anything.

Doesn't feel all that different to me, the basic scheme is pretty much the same. Only real major change is the way the leg armor is stored.

I absolutely love mine, he transformation is a bit of a pain when trying to close the panels that make up agumon's sides but i ended up cutting the thin peg shorter with some nippers and its become a lot more easier now

As I thought, metalgarurumon's torso is bit wider than I'd like..but boy is he a big toy.

Despite diaboromons arms being half and half, it's actually pretty hard to see when displayed properly...the color difference and shoulder kiddle are hidden quite well

Tailmon was surprisingly small. I'm not sure why I thought it'd be bigger. The arms sticking out of the tailmon body was also a bit of a let down. Given how angewomons arm ribbons worked, this should've been obvious but the official pictures just his that fact really well...

It's honestly beyond me how a transforming, throwback toy based on something from over a decade ago is the best version of Wargreymon we've gotten. The proportions and head are like a million times better than the Figuarts and it isn't a floppy mess like the D-Arts. Even with back kibble it looks amazing. It may just be because the original was one of my favorite toys as a kid bit I absolutely love this thing. The price was a bit steep but honestly it was worth it.

Bandai actually cares about this line, and it shows. Some of the young designers had the original toys when they were kids.

So long as you display the Diaboromon at eye-level or higher, it looks good. The only horrendous part is the "half-shoulder" and you can mitigate that quite a bit with proper positioning and angling, like they do on the sites and stock photos.

However, due to the way it transforms, I highly doubt the shoulders will rotate to allow the arms any movement beyond what the shoulder-restrictions. Same with the torse, sadly.

But as a static display piece, I'm fairly certain its a solid choice!

I also own the original Digivolver and the D-Arts, and I can say without a doubt that the Digivolving Spirits version is the best one.

Metalgarurumon was designed the same way as Wargreymon, as in, its just an updated version of the old digivolving figure. They've shown that they've already fixed the obvious flaws, head sculpt and colors, so its almost guaranteed to be just as good - if not better - than Wargreymon.

Actually, wasn't the old metalgarurumon toy better than the old wargreymon one, at least in terms of hiding kibble? At least in the mega-forms.

It all depends on where the die-cast parts are.

Not sure if the tentomon display unit is a "finished" product with metal parts of not. If it isn't, then the stand could just be there to prop it up for display purposes only. Tentomon, on the other hand, seems like it should balance itself quite easily if the tenotmon head weighs enough to counter-balance whatever is inside its shell. Assuming most of the weight is at that back since that's where the stand is...

But I do agree with you 100% that the ball joints will loosen overtime faster without a stand.

I've been meaning to make a custom of Sakuyamon for a while using the Figma Archetype She: Next but now this Digimon revival makes it seem kind of unnecessary, though I doubt they can actually pull the transformations with the Tamers' rookies and megas.
I was okay with my old bootlegs of the transforming figures of the Adventure partners but the new Garudamon looks great and I need that Zudomon so maybe I'll dip into the line later.

Hard to say. We know all of the original partner Digimon are coming, and we do know there is a Dukemon/Gallantmon coming soon as well. So a Sakuyamon being shown off in the next year certainly doesn't seem far-fetched.

Yup, gabumon is WAY easier to transform . Although maybe it's only mine but the gabumon hands, ears and metalgarurumon ears pop off quite easily. But they're on ball joints so no harm. But the ease of transformation really makes me want to transform it more often. Agumon's crazy stiff joints and side skirt panel is the reason it's always in wargreymon mode...

After fiddling with it some more, I noticed that agumon has a lot more weight to him than gabumon. Most likely due to most of the diecast being in the wire part of the metalgarurumon legs and head not being all clustered together like agumon.

Still a great figure. Honestly can't wait for the next release. Making us wait 3 months per figure, while showing off the next finished prototypes of Digimon scheduled to release at the end of the year (it's only 21 days into 2018...) should be illegal...

Not really if you go by the canon back when Digimon 02 was on TV. In the Bandai D-Terminal toy, Zudomon evolved into MarineAngemon.

Bandai did giantsized Agumon and Gabumon as desk cushions. They go for quite a bit on the aftermarket but they're worth it. I don't think Palmon has an official large-sized plush but there are some foot-long plushes on ebay.

I just checked and you're completely right. I don't know how the fuck I got that wrong. Maybe I just read that info in some Digimon site back in the day.

Oh I entirely agree. Her wingpack is ugly but everything else is flawless. Which only makes it sadder. I'm still convinced this was just the collector line Japan wanted. Bandai is going absolutely all in with this line. 6 figures a year with no signs of stopping. 11 figures were revealed before the second figure was even released. Normally we get the two original megas, Omnimon, Alphamon, and than maybe Gallantmon, or Imperialdramon before the line stops.

It's easier since the only problem with War Greymon is Agumon's sides.

I'm worried about scratching the paint or the rubbery plastic on the feet and Gabumon's head. The joints are just as tight as War Greymon's.

What concerns me more are the rubbery ball joints on Gabumon's fur ears, twisting that kind of plastic is not a good idea. They should have used hard plastic on the joints and glue the rubbery ears on top.

They really should go with this one for Ulforce. Veemon should be his Adventure 02 incarnation, that way they each series has at least one entry in this line. And it's not like they don't care about the minor/odd continuities, Alphamon is being sold as its X-Evolution incarnation after all.

The shoulderpads and the articulated arms they're connected to the body are pretty ugly, and they didn't even try to hide Guilmon's toe nails inside the feet like they did on the old toy (maybe they needed them as a heel because the "cape" weights too much?) but nonetheless looks really cool. I wonder if the lance can be stored inside the tail.

I see things there that I don't like at all, and it's all related to the shoulderpads.

The red part of the shoulderpads are Guilmon's hands like the old toy (look at that black stripe, and also the claws underneath), but as they're painted metallic red they're going to look like ass in Guilmon mode because the rest of the body is dark dull red. The old japanese toy also used chrome in there, so I guess they're giving it a pass because of the nostalgia factor. This also means the compromise of having an innacurate mark in both modes again, Dukemon shouldn't have the triangle markings in the middle of the shoulderpads, and they should be filled black in Guilmon mode to be accurate.

There's also the fact that given the transformation the gold part of the shoulderpads is attached to the body, but the red part is connected to the elbows. Dukemon's arms are goint to be a nightmare to pose as a result, and the shoulderpads would look disjointed in most poses.

It's not really "inaccurate" as their mission statement for these figures is that the designs are more along the lines of re-inspired than accurate. They talked about in something relating to Wargreymon. About how they wanted a strong design that represented the character overall rather than an accurate design.

Nonetheless the markings accuracy does't really bother me that much, but it's a shame that they didn't find a way to make it work. I can also tolerate most of the kibble, I own a dozen of the old digivolvers and never bothered me.

But Guilmon with metallic hands isn't going to look pretty, and the shoulderpads are a clusterfuck that will make posing the arms an unnecessary hassle. It will look stunning on the shelf, but I don't see myself posing it as much as WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.

For what reason? Part of me is starting to get worried that they're still hiding him considering how straightforward the transformation should be, but I guess I should have more faith in the line considering the level of black magic involved in getting Alphamon to cram inside Dorumon.

Dukemon looks kinda... not great. Maybe I just haven't seen clear enough back shots of Alphamon yet, but Dukemon's cape looks pretty nasty in comparison. I wonder how hard it will be to situate him where you can't see too much cape kibble or shoulderpad weirdness.

And on the note of cape shellformers, I recently had the notion that Veedramon > UlforceVeedramon should work really, really well considering where it would fall in between Alphamon and Dukemon designwise. Hopefully we get some more neat and semi-unexpected stuff like that from the line like we already have with Diaboromon and Alphamon (well, specifically that they're actually doing something with Dorumon) in addition to the inevitable Terriermon Renamon Impmon Hackmon Meicoomon

I hadn't even considered Lopmon to Antylamon, that'd be great. I'd really only thought about how they could go about making a less awkward looking Cherubimon. Most of the others I'd love to see I either can't imagine turning out pretty (Leomon > SaberLeomon) or not as obviously marketable (Guardromon > Andromon, any combination of Monodramon/Cyberdramon/Justimon, literally anything from Savers). I'd also really love to see Gatchmon > Globemon, but I feel like Appmon didn't really go over well with the older crowd who would be buying this line.

I do think that Vamdemon > VenomVamdemon would be both workable and sellable if they wanted to make it happen, though.

Thanks to Lopmon to Antylamon would be pretty easy honestly. Ears extend into arms, head opens to reveal chest and Antylamon head pulls up, body splits and legs pull and fold out out. From there the kibble folds in and hides behind the legs. I can see it just perfectly in my head.

Have there been any writeups on how the Garudamon transformation seems to work? I never really paid it close attention prior to now, and the only thing I feel like I know for sure if that if Garudamon's wings swing closed across her chest, from head on you'll be seeing the top of Piyomon's head looking straight up. It actually seems like a more interesting transformation than I initially assumed. Looking over it a bit more, do Garudamon's knuckles somehow become Piyomon's toes?

I just wish digimon had a big enough following like transformers. I would LOVE some upgrade kits to make these even better. An agumon side-panel that isn't a pain to peg in and maybe folds in half so wargreymon's side-skirt isn't so big would be nice...

Actually, I wonder if the toy designers could design even better, more accurate forms if they were given no budget/transformation difficulty restrictions.

We'll know once the official promotional pictures are out. But if there's a ball-joint under the red-shoulder armor/claw, it shouldn't be too off-putting in dynamic poses? It'll allow for a more natural look if you have dukemon's arms stretched out by rotating the red 45degrees since the gold border looks to be able to do the same.

The gold part joints are really distracting, I wish they made them smaller. This is also a minor problem with these figures, the transformation joints don't try to look like part the figure sculpt. The one on Tentomon's chest is also like that, there's no excuse to not give that joint some details so it hides better.

Yes. That figure for all it's flaws is a wonderful design and a design that's rather simple to fix with modern high-end engineering. And he's certainly coming one day down the line. The only problems are that either he'll be crazy expensive due to the size and the Wargreymon/Metal Garurumon figures might be small so that he can be in scale with Diaboromon.

Yeah, it seems like the forearms pull up to reveal the calves/anklet and pull down, while the Garudamon forearms are hidden in the main body some way. Really interesting, yet still reminiscent of the original Garudamon figure's arm-swapping.
