That's an issue with a lot of sets.
Instead of creating a cheap 5-10$ set they throw it into larger sets instead.
My favorite go-to example is still the crab mech in the TLNM Lightning Jet set.
There's no reason for it to be in there, especially since no other hero vehicle comes with anything like it, and could've easily been sold separately as army builder set.

i'd love a lego dimensions 2
there were so many unused properties that were in the scrapped year 3, and a new storyline involving the dimensional rifts would be spectacular
plus, if skylanders could do forwards-compatibility, then lego can do it better

The drone is actually part of this large set. Lego 60124 it's a Lego city explorers set. Digging around volcanic areas for precious gems and jewels encased in hard orange shells.

You're correct. When Lando was first released, he was the only non-yellow minifig in the line. That was when Lego decided that yellow=white.

That's the rumor. I haven't been able to find much on the Ghostbusters: Ecto Force cartoon other than it's supposed to start in early 2018.

Ghostbusters sets have a lot of potential, and I hope it happens, same as the rumored Nightmare Before Christmas ones.

Went to Target yesterday and they had some of the Lego Batman sets on clearance. They had the Scuttler set for $40. I wanted it so much but I didn't wanna spent too much money even though at that price it's a steal.

I ended up spending $40 on a Marvel Legends figure and some groceries...

/toy/'s mod is pretty on the ball about deleting shitposting. This board suffers from an excess of autistic flareups, so every few months someone decides he's going to teach the rest of a toy's fanbase a lesson by spamming multiple generals. This invariably results in the mod deleting the extra threads and the autist catching a ban, which is easy because mods can see your IP address.

I've been thinking about getting back into LEGO for 2018, but is it worth it?

I've seen in some of the past threads that the quality of the plastic has taken a nosedive in recent times. Even back a couple years ago when I got back into it, it seemed like smaller pieces, and minifigures (especially legs) got stress marks or even cracks pretty easily. I remember hearing that LEGO was going to shift production more and more over to China, and it was super, super easy to pick out Chinese-made bricks and minifigures even then.

I've always been a sucker for the modular buildings and the large sets, and part of what makes me want to come back is that new Diner, the Ideas Fishing shop, and even that new Modular-esque Ninjago set.

The value of your money and free time is entirely self determined. I doubt you'll find many in this thread that think lego in general isn't worth it. That being said, I would monitor those 3 sets from a few different stores and set prices where if you see that set on sale for below that price you'll buy it. Or start out with a smaller set, just to test the waters. You'll see the quality of plastic and remember what it feels like to build.

The set design itself is better than ever, with the Ninjago Movie line being one of the best ones (if not even THE best) ever created but as you said, due to the high demand their "only the best is good enough" slogan turned into "...good enough..." and they are more about quantity than quality.
The latest widely reported issue is that the print on minifigs gets applied way too thin, resulting in them looking like bootlegs, with the Lady Irondragon figure from the Ninjago sets being the most notorious example (left is the product image from Lego, right the actual thing) but reviewers have reported that tons of other figures like Lobo or Hawkgirl from the DC superheroes sets also have that problem.

I think people remember chima for the cartoon and the minifigs, but when you think about it, if they didn't make chima we would have gotten some other uninspired halftrack/cycle vehicle within vehicle theme. chima at least made the vehicles animal based which was a neat break and some of the color themes weren't bad.

Too true that last bit. Personally while I own quite a few chima bastards, mostly from cheap polybags and a few sets on sale, I never really found much use for them. Which is weird because I do enjoy the costume minifgs, and Chima is pretty much that with those head helmets. All I've ever used them for, for the most part, is sticking some of those heads on kid figs for halloween scenes.

Oh well, maybe one of these days I'll find something useful. Actually I did find the wings for the bird people useful. Made some "angels" once for a mock nativity scene that had Santa with a lightsaber defending baby Jesus from Roman minifigs. I built a pen outside the manger for "kosher pandas" and filled with the panda suit guy from TLM. Good times, good times.

Some themes have some pretty useful parts/figs when used not as intended. Nexo lava army dudes make an excellent demonic army, for instance. I have a small army of Moltors which are great for menacing cityscapes but also work with various themes. City volcano, for instance, or even Rock Raiders. You could do the same with the Stone Army, I suppose, but I've found them a bit less fun. Not sure how the webcrawler vamps will play out, but the borg inspired theme could be good.

It's President Business's torso printing from The Lego Movie, but it was printed on a white torso instead of the dark bley one that was released publicly. Technically a factory defect that wasn't supposed to see the light of day. Someone "removed" it from a Lego factory and eventually it ended up with me.

What's up with Lando's hair? I'm a little disappointed that Donald Glover doesn't look as much of a good fit as Lando as I thought he'd be. In case you need any further convincing, I bought it for $178 kangaroobucks recently, which is about $138 burgerbucks. I guess in the States you have to add tax after, which would make it about even.
I highly, highly recommend it for that price. It's an unbelievably beautiful set and everyone who sees it - even those with no interest in LEGO at all - loves it.
It comes with great pieces, the design, playability and displayability are brilliant, the build was fun and never boring (I was seriously impressed by the lack of repetition) and it comes with the whole Ninjago movie gang in one neat package. Plus, I've not even seen the movie or any of the show - it's just got so much merit as a set.
If you can afford it, get it and enjoy it. You won't regret it.

So where do you guys stand on saving manuals and boxers? Personally I throw away both, since I already have a limited amount of space as it is. Besides, you can find any manual online and boxes are only relevant if you wanna sell your lego, and you dont buy lego to sell it. Right?

I held on to them in case if the set apart for some reason and i wanted to rebuilt it, i still keep them for the same reason. (I know it's pretty pointless nowadays with online manuals and such but i find it easier to just flick trough a physical one.)

I have all my manuals in a couple of document boxes. After seeing people selling decade-old boxes online i started keeping the boxes as well, i just open them completely and flatten them. There are so many boxes from the 90s i wish i hadn't thrown away. But it's not a big deal since i generally get 3/4 sets a year at the most.

The Tie Silencer is a great set, but I absolutely hate the bottom back of it. It's like they just stopped building it. I wanted to fix it, but didn't want to have to take any of it apart. I added a few pieces to make it better and a little more accurate. Let me know what you think or how I could make it better.

Hetero non-breeder here; we get the same benefits plus society treats us well because we're not an affront to God. My friends with kids are all poorfags now but we have tons of disposable income.

tl;dr if you want klocki and a qt you can have them both as long as you don't end up with kids.

I throw boxes once I cannibalize the set for parts, they are mostly useless once opened. I didn't keep my boxes from the 80s-90s. I've later acquired a few from garage sales that have the front tab and inner boxes. They make the set looks like a more refined product with alt builds and part-specific tray.

I keep the manuals in cardboard document case.

Not my image, but I did manage to get that box with ~85% of a ship that took me 3 years to complete.

I did a similar thing to cover the blue pins but with tiles. Yours looks nicer though so I might switch to that. I also made the insides of the wings match the outsides (the gray struts or whatever you'd call them)

Rough layout of the torso, seeing if everything fits on it and go from there.

Everything is built in sections which are easily installed on the frame, which makes it lighter and easier to edit if needed.

The movie is goingto be released in 2020. Maybe we get a theme revival in 2019 with a new videogame and remakes/new sets based onthe 4 filmsand then in 2020 we get 5th movie sets and a sequel game? We had sets for Indiana Jones in 2008/2009 and 2 videogames.

A set is also rumoured that will include life-sized accessories, such as a microphone mobile phone.

From LEGO Disney, two new sets will be based on the animated TV series version of Tangled.
