I dont know, my main gripe isnt that the figures are bad, actually the exact opposite, its just the past decade theyve been extremly lazy about making figures. I remember a few years ago something similar happend where they didnt make anything new for a year, and the first new thing they made was fucking rory. At this point id rather have funko or even hasbro get the license, at least id get figures instead of the fucking nothing we have now. The only figures they made for 2016 where shitty doctor repaints, so its more like two years without new figures. The fact that bill is the first new thing revealed in such a long time feels like an insult.

Why though? They never did this so hamfisted before, and captain jack was a likeable guy and they played it for humor as well. I dont watch any other BBC shows, how bad is it in other shows?

Only thing I can think was the change from Russell T Davies to Moffat. The Davies led shows were campy but fun, Moffat tried too hard to make it serious at times and the plots just became unenjoyable and preachy at times.

I'd have to see a episode of the new Top Gear to see how bad that show has become.

I like how they make up the look of the cheap suits for the classic monsters with more realistic details. Like how bok, the gargoyle given life by azal, had an obvious cloth suit for most of his body with only some stoney parts on it, but the figure makes the whole body look like stone and full of crevices and detail.

Theyre pretty weird when it comes to making new sculpts and then never making them to make more shitty doctor variants no one wanted. This yeti proptype was leaked around 5 years ago and they ended up never releasing it, which angers me to no end because this is the second time a doctor who yeti figure was cancelled in two different toy lines. It just shows how utterly cheap and incompetent they are as a company. Especially since they cancelled even their smaller figure subline, and are basically sitting on the license and not making anything from it.

Id still hope theyd make a basic range like the power rangers line. They cant make a series of new monsters in a high end line like that, that usually only has a few characters, plus i want figures that dont have their interchangable limbs constantly fall apart.

Yes they do, thats the problem with character is they used to make figures of almost all the monsters from a season and then in 2012 suddenly stopped. They need to give the license to a company that will actually make all the characters and monsters again.

Theyve made a couple good ones. They made this 5 inch classic ice warrior figure, and a 3’34 one based on the updated design. If you want a 3’34 figure of the classic dapol made one back in the 90s, but its sculpts pretty dated.

Do you not understand why? The replies suggest you don't. I can explain jn a post if you like but can basically be summed up as:

>cost to company vs cost to make/profit far too small
>cost of manafacturing and materials ie. Plastic
>character choices for series 6
>unwillingness to raise cost for figures onto consumers
Ie. £10 seemed to kill the line in 2011 but now seems much more reasonable considering collectors are paying £25 for SW 6" of course they aren't on the same level however.

Dr who isn't as popular now as it was with Tennant. The kids don't care and so they can't make obscure stuff that only collectors will buy because they are not getting that sweet pocket money from kids.

If I were CO, I'd increase the price and make better product with better likeness. They could team with Hasbro to achieve this. I'd only make main characters though and few monsters, maybe a one or two classic choices. 10 or so new figures, 10 repaints/repacks/slightly changed figures.
