Janga bricks officially gave 75190 First order star destroyer the best interior of any star destroyer or variant released to date. Do you guys agree? I kind of want to buy it now after seeing how nice it looks as a set despite not being interested in any extended trilogy sets or buying any.

Check local listings like ebay and such for big piles o' Lego. This is more of a gamble the less actual knowledge you have of Lego and how good the provided pictures are.
I'd suggest a combination of random big lot of lego with some sets that are of a theme you like (cars, building, plane, boat)
Having more of one type of part will generally help you to make better things. Both in the type of element or just a bunch of a select colour. If you like going full rainbow warrior that's fine too ofcourse.

My plan is to buy a thousand bootleg xenomorph minifigs from China, heresy the purple belts off of a thousand Garmadon torsos, sell the individual figs as "Genuine Lego parts with custom pieces" for $15 each, and then pay China to make me a decent-looking penis head.

If I'm being honest with myself it's probably a flavor of the last few months, but I do love this fig. I can always use more laptops and coffee mugs, sure, but I've found that head is awesome for turning any fig into a cute nerd, especially cute space nerds. I probably have to build a cute space nerd cloning facility now to explain why I've made so many. Best damn thing Blacktron ever did for space right there. Also while I dig the hair she came with I've found she's super cute with new-Jay's hair. That way you can also use the orange scarf with her.

Picked Lance's Hover Jouster of the Nexo Knights theme as soon as sets has finally arrived to my city. Next day (today) I've added pieces to transform it into more serious hover tank.

So in my head canon Legoverse the themes aren't constricted to time and space so much as they exist parallel to each other via very-hard-to-open rifts. There's a DVice for this kinda shit, but as for the Soloman Blaze/Antimatter deal, everything just lined up due to the dark vortex.

So Soloman ended up in a City theme and Antimatter ended up somewhere around Nexo/Ninjago really pissed of and trying to replicate the event that brought him here. Not sure what his progress is on that.

I do like the Nexo line, I find the roboarmor motif they have to fit in quite well with space. If I have one complaint, though, it's that I much preferred their original armor. I didn't mind the Ultimate stuff too much but I do wish they'd stop with the translucent visors (and sometimes armor). I'm not really digging the new gold armor/uniform elements either but that might grow on me.

I honestly don't mind the tech stuff, and like most of the wave over all. I like the year 1 armor best and wish they would have used more of the gun metal grey and flat silver ones rather than the medium azure, and dual molded with trans orange pauldrons. space marines are cool, but a lot of classic castle fans aren't buying these sets and want the theme to die.

It would have been a great opportunity to have an episode of the show where the knights go back in time or to some other dimention or secluded village where they end up dressed like regular castle minifigs with old or updated versions of regular castle armor/weapons/shields/helmets. they could have done a set of it or made a small set for each knight, maybe each coming with a bit of rampart /wagon/merchant stall/drinking well that all fit together to make a sort of castle-y village.

As a theme, it's been great for the new parts and new colors. I really find the theme cool but have to agree that a lot of the elements unfortunately don't work at all outside the theme. I understand that it's a big bang theme and they gotta sell lunchboxes, but why do the armors have to have that little cut out window that looks so cool on nexo knights figures, but not only look bad for custom stuff, but the newest armor's hole doesn't even match up with the older figs' emblems.

To be fair, in Ninjago Lloyd's daddy issues were at the forefront but he realized by the end that he'd been taking his mom for granted, too. Seemed like the lesson was him spending so much time ruminating on what he didn't have he was neglecting what he did. And then it turned out that they both had secret hero identities they were keeping from each other.

It wasn't a bad movie, but I can see why it didn't play too well. Their bizarro version of Batman was just building off of TLM version and he was acting more like a parody of the character most of the time. Lego Batman was nevertheless true to the Lego Batman version in his own movie. Ninjago, however, I guess the kiddies who grew up with many seasons of the show and so many variations on the theme were less than pleased to discover that everything was reimagined.

Ah didn't see the Ninjago movie yet. I wanted to see it in theatres, but for some reason they only played the localized translation (and voiceactors for the most part are awful here).
While the first movie was supposed to pander to my nostalgia the most, i actually enjoyed the Lego Batman movie more despite not being into comics that much.
There was something liberating at deliberately choosing to highlight all the silly characters from the past and Batman acting like a little kid playing Batman for the most part. Also all the choreography of the car and plane chases totally felt like some adhd kid running around the house with his Lego sets, flirting with being genuinely cool and straight up retarded.

That's good advice. I've had some luck building off of existing sets, too. This has been good for the smaller 3-in-1 buildings, especially the ones that are pretty damn cramped. I'm talking about you, sandwich shop's upper story! I've found a really good way to become familiar with making buildings has been tinkering. You start seeing what's possible.

The real barrier, sadly, is never having enough of the right kinds of bricks!

Building with in hand pieces will always keep it's charm, and building with a limited 'palette' of parts can be a challenge and fun in its own right.
I now combine digital with irl a bit.
You can always mock up shapes with rainbow colours to experiment and then decide upon a possible colourscheme later on. I personally build things with the parts i have, do some rainbow mockups, draw ideas i have on paper and do some digital all mixed together.
But i have to agree digital can take some time getting used to or not feel nearly as satisfying. It was only after Stud.io came out that i came faster at it, but that was because i internalized most important bricklink names of pieces after years of being an addict.
What i like about digital is that you can easily keep 'instructions' of the version of a build you have on the computer, so you can later see how you did things if you want to revert something to it's earlier iteration. Also checking if the pieces exist in a certain colour via stud.io is a great help.
Besides not being as satisfying as fiddling with actual crack, i don't really like how you can't test how structurally sound something is irl. I can sort of predict it by now but sometimes it's guesswork, or you realize it way too late. On top of that, the program has a habit of crashing from time to time, so be sure to save often when busy.

This may be a bit of an aside to the conversation but I've noticed Lego has been playing up the "modular" aspect to the 2017 Creator line. I put the quotes in because it naturally pales in comparison to the actual big modulars, however take pic related as an example. It's actually called the Modular Modern Home and Lego has been posting vids on how to create new components to add to or replace existing ones. Some pretty nifty stuff complete with parts lists. They've currently been focusing on seasonal themed additions. Then there's videos like:

They've been playing up how you can take them apart and switch around the various levels to create new buildings. Feels like an attempt to push people more towards experimenting beyond the three build types in the instructions. I like it and think it's a nice touch. I personally found pic related pretty dull compared to the earlier Creator buildings that are fully enclosed and can open up, but at the same time I find it a nice building off point for larger structures, or adding on to other sets, or, hell, just parting it out.

2018 makes me really happy and optimistic. Lego is my biggest hobby and im glad it will make me happy if i will be getting enough money next year.

It feels like 2018 is when Lego saves me from DarkAges 2.0.
I stopped buying Lego during that shitty NexoKnights season 2 sets. They all were grey and all villains were boring. + star wars was dominating Lego.
So we had 2 grey uninspired lines that was dominating lego market during one year and it turned me off.

Yeah i like them too. Haven't bought any and probably won't do so anytime soon thanks to the colourscheme though.
I like how they give kids 'more options' than the 3 in 1 sets. Ofcourse you always have a bazillion options with Lego if you think in terms of specific pieces, but the 3 in 1 sets are still rather complicated and specific for young or new kids i think.
These will give them a house assuming they like houses and make it very natural and low effort to start experimenting around until you almost made something 100% custom. Easier to do than the 3 in 1 and with more options at the same time i mean.

I mean if the prequels didn't do it in nothing will, though frankly a lot of the prequel hate was memetic after awhile. A worse flaw, in my opinion, is that love or hate the prequels it at least had some cool designs. Very toyetic, as they say. The new stuff is a lot of barely different rehashes and literally dull gray boxes. That, I think, will probably hit them harder in the long run. I didn't watch the last jedi or the force awakens. I only bought one extended trilogy set and that was the first order troop transport. I'm strictly an original trilogy or prequel trilogy afol. Yeah it was a neat partspack i guess and showed off a whole bunch of different styles and techniques you could do.
I'm just not a fan of the super neat and clean houses feel. I hardly ever use white and tan for architecture. The only almost completely white structure i built is an old fancy and comically white policestation, but that gets a pass for being a Lego tradition at this point.

This is the most damage controlled Star Wars movie I've seen since any of the Prequels. The Disney shills are in desperation mode, and it's hilarious what lengths they'll go to. I haven't seen this much shilling since Hillary's failed campaign.
No amount of self-reassurance will EVER "fix" this movie. It was a complete abomination, and the defenders know that deep down in their hearts.
Disney's nuWars was made to pander to SJWs, and it is this very pandering that will ultimately destroy the franchise at some point in the near future. Deal with it.

I enjoyed this set back in the day, my brother really insisted on picking it for my birthday.
Lots of different things to do with it. the speederbike was nice. Don't use the figures now really, except for the speederbikes headpiece with the stylin shades for one of my main dudes. I still like this stormtrooper the best, it's little mouth is very cute. But honestly, i just don't give a shit about the license that much outside nostalgia. I use some of the figure parts for custom characters, but mostly the fleshie and specificness fends me off. I actually like using lots of gray, but the higher pricepoint fends me off as well.

That seems to be the common critique online. Oddly enough the one 'structure' set that wasn't a mega huge castle or lava lair was merlok's library and it was kinda meh. It was a target exclusive in US and seemed over priced. The only redeeming feature was that it connected to the fortrex, but that was gimmicky.

I would love to see a village, guard tower, windmill, farmhouse, blacksmith... anything that isn't another vehicle.

Yea it is awesome.

Build is pretty sweet, mouth/gills open, rear gunner and front hatch open for figure too.

Also has a walking pose which I've not seen a reviewer show off (you can kinda see it in my photo).

I love it, and the legs can just be taken off of the technic and be a robot shark.
