I'm not "into" them, but I still have one that I spin on my desk sometimes. I divide up my day between my spinner and pic related.

The infinity cube is really cool. For me, at least, it's much more satisfying to play with than a spinner. It makes quiet clicking noises that I really enjoy, but it's not as annoying as clicking a pen over and over.

I've never been a fan of the "baby activities" cube or 12-sided (I think?) thing. Those seem like they'd be really nice if they are your thing, though.

What, you don't think that's a completely classy photo? Looks absolutely posh, that does. You've got your faux old-time map desktop, bits of sophisticated paraphernalia around the edges. I do believe that's a nice little tobacco pipe there off to the right.

I can definitely see these cubes surrounded by books and wood paneling and whatnot.

There's still a couple of stores trying to sell them. I wonder if my local TRU managed to sell at least half of the bin full of them they had when i worked there.

They'll probably keep them forever, unless they burn them all in a bonfire.

Anon, they're everywhere. Stores heard it was the biggest latest fad, but by the time they got the supply, it was over and now there's a shit ton of them rotting in every store that sells toys.

I think the trouble right now is finding them being sold for what they're actually worth. I keep seeing spinners being sold for 3, 5, 10 dollars, depending on what they're made out of. That should be sold at cost now.

If anyone still wants spinners, they should buy them on Aliexpress, because that's the only place where you'll find them for decent prices. Even metal ones are only a couple of bucks.

I'm curious about the little button ones: The gold-tone one and the rainbow-metal one between the black one and the wallet.

How do those work? How do you spin them and stuff? I've seen pics of those among other geared spinners (pic related), but I can't imagine how they work.

The brass part is just a circular hunk of metal that hugs/surrounds the bearing. It would be like shaving the arms off this tri spinner

The gears don't work. They are just for show. You can turn the gears by hand I think but they don't turn when you spin the spinner.
It's a scam to make people think how cool it is.

Although, that makes sense. I can't imagine one with gears that spin freely enough for the whole thing to go around without continually turning it by hand.

I can't really recommend it: It's the lowest quality one I've gotten out of the half-dozen I own right now.

The cubes have leftovers from the molding process around them. The unusual hinges are neat, but they have some friction so you can't spin the cube in one hand like (I guess) you're supposed to.

I can't wait for the metallic red and woodgrain ones I have on the way!

All fidget toys are lame. The point isn't to hold your attention.

Do you understand what fidgeting is? If you're focusing on it, you're doing it wrong.

Tapping your foot is lame and boring but you do it when you're anxious anyway.

These are just techy gimmick alternatives to toe tapping.

No, that's literally the opposite of what they're supposed to do.

They're supposed to drain off excess energy so you can focus on something else.

How they tend to ACTUALLY work is they distract you from what you're supposed to be focusing on.

This. I love these cubes and made one out of lego. I constantly use it while studying. I have a fidget spinner too, but it's really distracting and you have to use two hands and generally pay more attention to it than one of these cubes

You know, you've got a point there.

That said, I at least think infinity cubes are fun. I like to spin them in one hand or the other. They've been good for me at a boring job. I just got a new job (still at a desk, still on a phone) so we'll see if I need them there too.
