The concept is cute. I think part of the price is the "experience" of going through the opening. I bought one for myself and $10 seemed decent enough to me, but I'm single and childless. All of my income is for me. I'm sure more than one or two will be way too expensive for your average mom, who is probably trying to buy gifts for multiple kids. It's crazy scrolling through the toy part of Instagram and seeing people who managed to collect most or all of a series of these things. That's so much money.
