>>6702237Hey 1:18 folks, Zica Toys will be launching their Sectaurs Kickstarter on January 28th.
Some news about it, as of right now, it will only be for 2 of their announced 10 figures, Prince Dargon and General Spidrax (pic related). It will feature a relatively low (though not yet stated) funding goal. There will apparently be no stretch goals unless it "funds high enough" then maybe 2 more figures might be added. Zica adds that if these 2 fund that they think the rest of the figures will be made, perhaps with minimal need for Kickstarters. He also mentions that they'll likely cost around $24 shipped to the US, a bit more internationally.
Now, for some thoughts, I feel like Zica doesn't seem to understand how to really work a successful KS. I'm sure he was probably pretty disappointed with Adventure People not doing as well as he'd hoped, but only making 2 figures kind of feels like a recipe for disaster whereas the stretch goals with a strong base group of figures is generally the way to go with action figure Kickstarters. Now, don't get me wrong, I feel like with the 2 lead characters of the Sectaurs this KS will be able to succeed, but it just has such a low ceiling and nowhere to grow beyond people just buying 1 of each of the figures offered. I'm sure some will likely buy more, and perhaps some stores, but the majority will likely buy at most 2. I will support this campaign, but I think more could be done to make it a greater success. If you so feel inclined perhaps those of you with some ideas to improve, support, criticism, can go message Zica on their Facebook page or post comments on their recent Sectaurs related posts so that he can hear other thoughts on the matter.
