To interrupt the story - both of these are reworkings of retail sets - the red one that City Caravan Camper set and the white one the Spider-Man van bullshit. One is clearly more extensive than the other but my main goal was just to make something that could fit two people - initially I wanted the white truck to be Jake and Maddie’s but it proved harder to keep those nice white side tiles AND carve out enough room to fit two figures. That being said, the white truck as a whole came out nice, particularly the bed (which I will show off after the story). The red truck is way more simpler - I basically removed all the tan pieces and carved out room in the truck using the single stud 1x2 tile method. Wanted to keep the pinstripe but I only have so many pieces. Other than that I hollowed out the bed and raising the roof by a few studs so Maddie’s big ass hair could fit. I’ll take pictures later if anyone wants to see but for now, back to the story.

They're the same dimensions (sorry) as a 4x4 round piece, so anything that will fit that will fit a toy tag. If you come up with something interesting, do post it here. I have something like a hundred of those things lying around from when Dimensions went on steep clearance.

On an unrelated note, went ahead and hollowed out the Jakku Quadjumper and got rid of that STUPID explosion gimmick. It’s a little cozier now. Might modify the ship more into something else but for now? A nice little intergalactic workhorse of something or other.

Just did my groceries and had dinner. I also picked up three blindbags of the ninjago minifigs.

I was hoping to get the sushi chef, alas, I didn't. I got two minifigs that I already have:

number 11, the girl with the bubble tea/ice tea and the fin cape and large fin collar thing

number 14, the flame shark guy.

I'm not too bothered by getting those two again as I could potentially use the fin cape and neck thingy to build some kinda creature. Also the ice-tea cup thing is neat to have for my future lego home.

I may end up just purchasing a sushi guy from ebay as the price is pretty much the same as buying a blind bag.

The third minifig I got tonight was pjyama garmadon which is alright. The little bowl and spoon are cool.

JP is the reason i hate raptors and avoid "paleo-fags". Because ceratopsians were my favorite dinosaurs even when i was really little.
JP was huge disappointment to me when i saw it.
And paleontology community being filled with raptorfags that only interested in raptors pisses me off.

I understand why they didnt include trike - because Jurassic P/W is a raptor/t-rex movie.
Fuck this franchise. Fuck paleofags.

I will buy Stygimoloch and T-rex sets though - i don't have these figures.

Oh they made those in gray? I have a ton of those in white (more specifically, i think at one time they were supposed to be white) but their clutchpower really isn't that great. They're also way more rigid and hard than newer bricks, wich makes seperating and attaching them very hard.

While cologne has some nice architecture, that street is a total postmodern trainwreck imo, haha.
Glad you enjoyed it though. I came past it on a trip with my parents too having no idea the city even had a Lego store. Shit was amazing, i still remember being so surprised the Build a minifig bins had so much rare cmf parts and exotic pieces in it. Came out of it with dark azure Alpha agents ponytail, printed gray cat from cmf legomovie, cmf waiter winebottles, grumpy old man face cmf and a bunch of other stuff i was eying on bricklink for quite some time.

Could you maybe collage the pics from now on? Not trying to diss or anything, just that these threads go super sanic fast if this happens often. It mostly makes replying to older posts a bit more of a hassle. Doing several resized panels at ones will make it easier to save them if people want to keep the images of the story in order too. I just use paint.net or some super easy and free like that.

I love it! The walkways look really good, i love crummy and organic/aged looking structures! It's also a great throwback to the old 4-wide adventurers plane in the style of that recent creator set. The smooth wings, top and underside make it look very aerodynamic. I'd personally try and make the top of the nose more smooth as well, but it would make the whole structure a bit thicker.
Ever considered using coloured blue paper like lq for water? (I understand if you want to keep it all Lego though.)

Just ordered another batch of stuff from Bricklink. Needed to make the Ninjago team complete since I found the movie to be entertaining and I like to have a completed collection (got the ones I could from the CMF series). As rad as a lot of the Ninjago Movie sets are, I don't have the space for them and I'm saving up for other things that are a bit more important.

I was working as a guide of lego exposition for three months. There were thousands of normalfags and legofsms there. Only about 20 looked at the star wars part and out of that 10 really cared. Seriously one dad pointer on regular rebel trooper and said:'Look son, iron man!' They were looking at city trains, city buildings and cars etc , technic shit , castle/hobbit, pirates of the carribbean. Hell evem friends and lone ranger had far more visitors. I washed the windows after my shift and sw windows were always clean af nobody look there.

Just because you think they look the best does not mean they will look the same to majority. This zealotry about overrating SW is forcing me to slowly start loathing that franchise.

Like you've said imagine having a guest. Now imagine having a nice comfy lego city cabin - everyone will understand what is. Some of the will think is childish and some of them will like it. Now imagine having tie fighter right? I'm givimg star wars the high grounds since tie fighters are the best looking spaceships and creator cabins are pretty boring. Even then you must count with the fact that your guest saw the movie and liked it. Otherwise you guest will not get it and it will lok just like some crappy nerd shit to him. Normalfags understand normal thinks from life like houses boats etc.

And having any spaceship just lying on shelf and not actually hanging in air will took away great part of the aesthetic value.

Generally speaking I think that lego sets have been using smaller parts to add more detail, especially noticeable with Star Wars.
The old Interceptors had wings that were generally 1-2 plates thick if I remember right, whereas the new interceptors wings are generally 3+ plates thick.

I think the margins are so crazy high that it's not important. Existing pieces cost tenths or hundredths of cents to produce. Design, licensing, new molds, advertisements, is the significant cost and the reason Lego is expensive is because of the demand for Lego.

They're both about $20 and have a comparable number of pieces (223 in 75038 202 in 7256)
However, the 2005 set comes with both a droid fighter and the jedi interceptor, whereas the 2014 set only has the interceptor.
Both of the interceptors are around the same size physically. But because the 2014 set comes with one ship and the 2005 set comes with two it can feel like you're getting less in the 2014 set. Even though the 2014 set comes with more pieces.

That's kind of my thinking with it, honestly. Especially since I don't even like the sequels.
However, I like Kylo Ren, and the general's trench coat would be useful. The pauldron would be given to one of my OT stormtroopers, and the rest of the minifigs would just be put into my storage.
The set has some neat parts, and I could build a MOC with it. Definitely worth it for the Price per Part.

Instagram doesn't have a proper group setup the way Flickr does, which makes it terrible for sorting by theme since you can't account for tagging variations, plus it only does 1080p, which is fuckall size for some builds (it would resize this and lose TONS of detail, for example).

Since the first Sanctum Sanctorum set I've had the idea to build it. Both the internal and the external. The idea was to build the external as a 16x32 modular and then do a nice big internal build with the explanation being some sort of Tardis-esq magic bullshit.

This is unironically a really fucking cool set anon.
Uses reverse plane butts for the boat parts, has a folding waterslide that stores a jetski, full interior, groovy underwater windows, shower, sliding glass doors, many places to chill, Good lighting on the inside.

The faces look neither like Lego nor like the characters they're meant to represent and it's as if the author didn't check if there are preexisting pieces to represent a lot of the accessories decently (the CMF claw for Clawful, Agents metal arm and jaw for Trap Jaw, and so on), it's pretty shoddy fanart probably done for some "epic nerd shit mashups" site
