It takes a while for it to happen, but very quickly they'll just become uselessly floppy. If you just mess around with him for like a minute you can feel them becoming looser.
If you wanna fix/prevent it it, immediately pop Brawl's arms off, and disaasemble the torso so you can get the black ball joint parts on their own. What you wanna do is sand off the mold line, which seems to be the cause of most of the damage, into it's totally smooth. You should also try running the ball joint under a lighter a few times to try get the heat to smooth out the rough texture of the ball joint. After the ball joint is smoothed out as much as you can, pop it back together. If the shoulder joints are loose, take it back apart and apply a tiny bit of super glue all around the socket to thicken it out and strengthen the outer surface of the plastic.
That's pretty much what I did to mine after people warning the shoulder joints go loose, and it worked pretty well. If you end up needing to apply super glue to the socket just be very careful and only use as little as possible. I put too much on my Brawl's left arm when I reassembled and the plastic stressed a bit around the edges, which wasn't noticeable but it made the joint scary tight at first.
just adding future shine by itself doesn't work since the rough black plastic will just grind it away instantly (well it might work if you smooth out the ball joint but I didn't really want to experiment). You need something as strong as super glue to thicken the plastic.
